have upped my goals, cals etc. do i add my work exercise?

I have recently upped my cals as i am so near my goal. What I was wondering is do I still add my work based exercise , I do alot of walking as I am a childminder, when I was on 1200 cals I added my walking into mfp, but now I don't, only my gym and swim exercise?

thanks, also any advice as to what i do when I reach my goal on mfp.

thank you x

You should always add in your exercise calories as MFP is created with a built in deficit.

First of all well done on your weightloss! Thats amazing that you are near to your goal!!

I'm not an expert so others may have better advice than me but I think the key here lies in your settings. If you have told MFP that you are 'sedentarty' ie don't move around a lot then I'd say yes, definately record everything. If you've said 'lightly active' or 'moderately active' then MFP will have built activity that you do during your job in.

I do a desk job so I have mine set to 'sedentary' and if I go out for a walk at lunchtime then I add that to MFP. My mum works in a factory so that involves her walking around and doing some light physical work - so she's set hers to 'lightly active' but doesn't count her moving around at work.

    Hope that helps

It depends. If you are using MFP as designed, your work calories are included in your activity level. Decide which of these best fits your work:

Lightly Active: Spend a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)

Active: Spend a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman)

Don't record anything extra for work, but so log your "formal" exercise and eat those calories back.

If, however, you upped your goals manually, it depends whether you included your work activity level in your calculations.

i have put lightly active as i am on my feet, walking or crawling about on the floor alot in my job so thought i wouldn't log my work exercise. i just upped my cals to 1300 as so many said 1200 was too low left everything else as it was, plan to up cals a bit more too when i want to maintain, think that's what you do???

Just go into your goal settings again and change What is your goal? to "Maintain my current weight". It will take a bit of trial and error to get it bang-on, but it's a good start!
