      i agree with OP. almost every thread i see, it's bombarded with condescending replies of "who cares?" and "mind your own business"

      it amazes me how people can turn a simple thread into something so controversial.
      i barely post threads because i know half the people replying will say something snotty, no matter how simple the thread is.

      OK while we are at it, why do some people not show gender in the profile even if it is private. Why are you hiding if you are male or female?

      You can always tell gender because MFP puts a message saying something like "USER's profile is viewable by her friends only" Or "...keep his profile private".
