Insanity. Am I eating enough calories?

So I started Insanity a week ago and so far lost a little under a pound. For as hard as I've been working I think that's a very small weight loss. I've calculated the amount of calories your supposed to eat a day and it gave me 2550 calories. Of course I see that as WAY WAY too much to eat. I'm 5'2 150 pounds and it says set your activity to moderately active. Since I thought it was way too much I've been eating only 1500 a day and some days eating some of my exercise calories back.
Am I doing things the right way? Should I just go by the Insanity count, keep what I've been doing, or what are your suggestions for calories. *Feel free to look at my diary*

Are you aiming to lose?? Have you ever considered doing the math and creating a deficit? And great job!! I as well am doing Insanity. It is typical to not see any major results right away! It's 60 days for a reason!0

I do Insanity too. I'm on my 2nd round of it. :0) How much weight are you trying to lose weekly? If you set mfp to a 2 lb. weight loss, you will hardly be able to eat anything. So I set it to a 1 lb. weight loss/week. I ALWAYS add in my exercise calories and eat them. You should too. Any calories you burn, you can eat and still lose the weight mfp is set for you to lose. Do you know how many calories you are burning during each insanity workout? I wear a heart rate monitor that calculates it for me so I can be sure that if I add in calories burned for exercise, I know I can eat that much more for the day. If you don't eat enough, you can actually SLOW weight loss. Something to keep in mind.0

Yes I use a HRM and burn about 400 or so calories a workout. Would you suggest I set it to moderately active as well or lightly active since I'm doing a very vigorous workout?0 -

Thank you! And yes I've done the Harris Benedict method that they used and then reduced it to 1500 calories.0
