Who has the FitBit Flex?

Is it worth $100? Is it accurate? I was looking at getting a Polar FT4 but the reviews on Amazon about it not working after a few weeks scare me. I don't want to throw my money away. Thanks in advance

There is a 45 day money back guarantee from Fitbit. I have the One (had the Ultra) and my Flex is on order. If I don't like it, I will definitely return it and stick to my One.0

I have read SO MANY mixed reviews on the Flex that I can't decide if I want to upgrade from my FitBit One. I got my FitBit One in January and **LOVE** it...very accurate and easy to use. The only reason I would consider trading it in for the Flex is because putting the One in the little armband for sleep each night is a little annoying...seems very convenient to just always wear the Flex.
Good luck0 -
I have the Polar FT7 which I love and I just bought a Fitbit one to use with it. I looked at the flex and the one fit my needs better.0

I'm curious so I'm inserting a little bookmark for myself.
I have the BodyMedia Fit band right now, but am curious about the FitBit Flex. It's mostly for cosmetic reasons since the BodyMedia is kind of bulky (it's a pretty an armband that's pretty conspicuous). If I need to wear something 24/7 in order to work I'd rather it be a little more unobstrusive - like a wristband.0 -
I have the one and my husband just got the flex...I really like the one and wear it on my waistband even for sleep, I don't use the sleep wristband....
My husband seems to like the flex.. I don't like things on my wrists...no watches or bracelets at all so that's why I will stick with the one.....0 -
I love my fitbit One. (My friends might say that it's a little too much.)
I wouldn't like the Flex because it doesn't count stairs.
That said, it is *not* a HRM. Two totally separate machines.0 -
So basically, if you want to be accurate, you should have a HRM and something like a FitBit? I kind of like the idea of the bracelet because I read a lot of people lost their FitBit or washed it by accident because it's so small.0

My flex just arrived last night and so far so good! It linked right up where my ultra left off yesterday when I replaced it on my account. I had the ultra for over 18 months and loved it but the fear of losing it or throwing it in the wash by mistake always had me worried! I miss the that the flex doesn't have the instant readout that the ultra/one do but it syncs instantly with me iPhone which also syncs with MFP in real time so that is kind of nice. Not having the stair count isn't going to keep me from not taking the stairs whenever possible so I'm ok with that. The biggest selling point for me was the water resistance!! It was kind of nice having it on in the shower this morning and not worrying about it.0

For clarity, my issue with not having the stair count isn't so much taking the actual stairs in my normal day, but for my runs. I like to differentiate between a 5 mile flat course and a 5 mile steep trail course...and it's fascinating to me to see the stairs equivalence of some of those runs. (It is not uncommon to have 60-80 flights in a typical trail run.)0 -
Are there any trackers that are absolutely waterproof for swimmers?0

This is not completely true. A HRM is really to see your heart rate during some sort of physical activity that is not your daily activity. You can get a HRM to track your HR throughout the day if you want to, but if you are getting a HRM for calories, they are not accurate for when you heart rate drops below 90. Fitbit, Nike Fuelband, etc are glorified pedometers that can track extra information. However, the FitBit can also track sleep patterns and information, activity spikes throughout the day and more. Don't bother with a HRM if you are trying to track calories burned throughout the day.
As a note, the Flex has a vibration alarm, which is AWESOME! In addition, you can shower with it if you on if you want; don't know why, but hey...you can. I personally like that you can wear it on your wrist.0 -
also.. make sure you have a phone that will sync with the flex. I want to get it as I love my Ultra but prefer a bracelet, but my phone isn't compatable.0

I've had an FT4 for nearly 2 years and I love it! I recently had to change the battery, but otherwise have never had a problem with it. I think the biggest issue people have had is when the chest strap doesn't lie flat it won't get good reception.
Curious about the fitbit flex though. Would be even better to have something small and less clunky to wear all day every day.0
