It's Easier Said Than Done

Hello,
I have done everything from counting calories to Weight Watchers to this ridiculous armband currently sitting around my arm that is getting put back in the box and back in the mail when I get home.
My Sophomore year of college which was roughly 8 years ago, I was fed up. I was almost 200 pounds, I think around 197 and all I had to do to lose 20 of them were walk on the treadmill everyday and do 50 crunches. That took me oh about the duration of a summer to do that.
Then I went on to lose about 10 more pounds a few years ago, I don't remember how I did that because I was with an ex boyfriend that I've seemed to block that entire amount of time out of my head.
So then I was at my smallest ever (weight wise) and then I joined kickboxing, consecutively for 3 days a week 45 minutes each time. Then I started swimming (laps) when I felt like I had more energy 2-3 times a week. I tonned up, building muscle, losing fat so fast (but not pounds) I couldn't keep track. I didn't care that I wasn't losing pounds because I looked phenomenal. Last September, I stopped all of this. For some reason all the excuses popped into my head and out of my mouth.
So here I am 10 pounds heavier, trying my hardest to lose the weight, and keep it off and it is not budging. I roughly workout 2-3 times a week (circuit training, yoga, walking my dog) and the scale isn't moving. I eat roughly 1200-1400 calories a day and I'm usually always within my calorie range.
I don't know what else to try. I do have some intestinal issues and am gluten free 100% of the time so I don't like doing drastic things to my diet because I did that last year and I sent myself into a 3 month long very painful spasm.
I know that I still have weight to lose but because I'm not a super heavy person (like the almost 200 pound girl I was at 20), I feel like it just doesn't want to leave my body. If anyone else has any ideas that I could try, I'd really appreciate it. I love food and I hate giving it up.

Hello I hope you dont mind a little advice from someone older but still young at heart . somtimes it is somthing simple mabe you are to stressed out dont be so hard on yourself . I can relate to the stomach problems I suffer from pain not sure of the problem yet waiting for more test. I think you should just try to eat healthy and stick to an exercise program that you like and chill out. also drink plenty of water it flushes your system out. think positive . good luck. valey1234:happy: :happy:0

You've hit a plateau and that's quite normal.
This happens when your body becomes regulated to everything your doing and not longer burns fat, but maintains your current weight.
The best way to push past a plateau is by doing different exercise. For instance, if you're a runner and all you do is cardio all the time, add some strength training into that mix ( I would suggest starting with about 3 or 4 times a week for a start).
Changing up your cardio is another way too, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) will also help. HIIT is simply doing a burst of really fast really hard cardio for a short period of time (say a minute or so), then continuing with the rest of your cardio for about 3-5 minutes then hitting the hard stuff again for another minute. Lather, Rinse, Repeat until your workout is complete.
Anything that pushes your body that you feel (and trust me you'll feel it lol) will cause your body to work harder and burn more calories.
I hope this helped a little (:0 -
Try changing shape meal plan. You can choose the amount of calories you want. Right now I'm on the 1600 cals plan and I'm loving it so far. Also I started weight training. Will see how it goes if I need to up or lower. You see what works for you.0

Hmn, Sounds like stubborn belly fat eh?
I mean you could try a few fat burning drinks, or juicing.
Basically these things liquidate your fat, making it easy to burn, and juicing will reboot your health system. I'll give you a few links to each!

I've only done the dr oz. one for the fat burning drinks so I'm not sure how well the first one works. Hope this helps? :P0 -
Thanks, nope, I don't tend to hold the weight in my belly, it's evenly distributed. I can't juice or cleanse because of intestinal problems, thanks though!0
