I have 2 cans of meat both are the presidents choice blue menu brand. one is diced ham and the other is seasoned chunks of turkey breast. I don't want to make just sandwiches and I'm sure the ham would be awesome in an omelet but I'd prefer to find a yummy way to incorporate these meats into an actual meal for 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) and healthy is a bonus.

Please if you have any tried and true recipies could you send em my way.

thanks
Vickie

Not sure how you feel about split pea soup but the chunks of ham would go great in that!

My first thought was a macaroni and cheese or hash brown casserole type thing for the ham ... Or even just roasted veggies with the ham stirred in. Dang, now I'm hungry!

we love navy bean soup w/ ham...

    1 pound navy beans
    1 large onion, diced
1 box low sodium chicken stock
    ham chunks
    black pepper to taste

soak beans overnight, drain, rinse. all all ingredients and simmer for 2 hrs or so until the stock thickens. yum!

For the Turkey you could do a Chicken A La King Casserole.....except it would be Turkey A La King

    3 cups Rice
    Turkey Chunks
1 Large Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup or Cream of Chicken.....whichever you prefer
    Shredded Cheese
Salt, Pepper & Onion Powder or Tony's to taste
    (Broccoli if you have it)

Combine in a casserole dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until Cheese is melted over top and inside

the first thing that comes to mind is homemade fried rice...you dont have to fry it in oil...just a little water will brown it nicely or some soy sauce :)

I never thought of that.....I do it with fresh chicken all the time, never thought I could use canned meat. I may have to give it a go.

    thanks for the idea.
