breakfast question for a exercise and diet newbie

hello all

I work nights so usually I would be sleeping until noon or so. But since I have started to try and lose some weight, I've been setting my alarm to wake up no later than 9 a.m.. After I do my 25 to 30 minute cardio workout, that usually leave me eating breakfast for right around 10 a.m..

So to my question...is that too late to be eating breakfast? Even considering as soon as I wake up I exercise, then eat?

Thanks for any answers

This is one of those "what works for you" things. I personally don't eat breakfast until a few hours later either, on the mornings I exercise first.

When I work out in the mornings, I don't eat until after I work out either. I think it is fine. I know plenty of people who get queasy if they try to eat as soon as they wake up. Everyone is different so do whatever works for you :)
  • Thank you. I just wasn't sure if 10a was too late. Thanks

Meal timing for adults is irrelevant for weightloss. Eat when you are hungry. I rarely eat anything before noon even though I get up before 8:00 am. I am just not hungry. And I rarely eat anything substantial until after I get off work. That whole breakfast like a king dinner like a pauper thing, or the don't eat after arbitrary evening time thing are irrelevant as well. The only caveat to that is if you KNOW, that you personally, have difficulty making good food choices at certain times, then it might make sense to restrict yourself then.
