Should I lose 1 or 1.5 lbs per week?

I know most people will probably say 1, but what do you think of these numbers in the past month? Would that change your mind?

hey just joined, I bought a scale a month ago and it was 196.8, ever since then started watching out. Got off of medication as well. Well since then weight sort of went like this 196, 198, 196, 200, 196,199, 198, 197, 194, 196, 192, 194, 193, 195, 191, 192, 197, 193, 191, 189, 187, 189, 188, 192, 193, 190.

And now at 190. So lost like 7-10 lbs? My goal is 175. That's RIGHT in the normal BMI range for 5'11".

Am I in the weight range to lose 1.5 a week or to lose 1 a week?(Anything you can tell based on those weight changes?) I have only actually been counting exactly for a little while. All I really did was buy the scale and I guess by instinct starting eating less. Now that I am writing it down exactly, I imagine this will become much stricter.

You should aim for a weight loss of up to 2 pounds per week. So 1 to 1.5 is fine. Just depends on your preference. I'm currently 190 and lose anywhere from 1-2 lbs per week, just depends. If you were a lot heavier, more than 2 lbs a week of weight loss is normal, but yeah.

Because you don't have a lot to lose, I would aim for 1 pound a week. Your weight loss will level off somewhat, most of us, lose more initially. You also likely lost some since you stopped medication.

If your at 190 with a goal weight of 175 i would say 1.5. DEPENDING on your BF%, if thats high which i imagine it wouldnt be i would say 2 but once you get to about 185 knock it down to 1 lb a week

Honestly, I think 1-3 pounds a week is healhy, it really depends on your height, weight, how many calories you are eating and exercise. I say never go below 1400 calories and exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
