Anyone got any hrm recommendations please??
My other half has agreed to buy me one but I've no idea what to look for.
What one do you use, is it good & how much did you pay?
Thank you
I'm in the UK too and would prefer to shop online for it thanks

Depends on what you want it to do. For cycling and running I love my polar rcx50

I did a lot of research and chose Polar FT7
Paid $74 and free shipping. Heartmonitors web site0 -
I did a lot of reaserch myself and found the Polar Ft4. I love it! Just remember to have a battery replacement on hand when the battery dies.0

Thanks for the replies
I'd like it for cardio, exercise DVD's & such, I'm not a runner at all and also to see how many cals I burn in a day ect
I searched the ft4 & ft7 and they both look good and not a bad price, doesn't seem to be much difference between the 2 though!0 -
I vote for the Polar FT7. I have one and love it.
Which whatever model you choose to get ensure it has a chest strap and allows you to enter at least your age, sex, weight and height. The watch only models, while cheaper are not very accurate. Also, any models that don't allow you to enter your age, sex, weight and height will not be accurate either.0 -
When I got my hrm (Polar FT60, it has a built in fitness test) I wasn't a runner either. About a year after I had mine I decided to give C25k a try and loved it. Now I wish I would have gotten an hrm with built in GPS so I could track my distance and speed outside. I suppose a smart phone you could use its gps with various apps, but i don't have one. Point being, even if you're only planning on using it for indoor fitness videos now, you might want to think ahead and consider what kind of activities you might be doing the more fit you get.
Also, hrm's are traditionally used for all day calorie tracking. If that is what you're interested in, check out bodymedia.0
