I HATE my job!!!

I work for a self-publishing company. It's my job to help author submit their materials for design.

Sounds kinda cool....right?

NO! I am an account manager with 447 accounts. This is more than twice what an individual is supposed to be able to handle. No, they aren't hiring new people. They are, however, moving my possition to the Phillopines and I'll be moved either to another department or to the same position for another brand.

I used to love my job, until the hiring freeze hit and half our staff quit. I can't keep up (no one can). It's constant stress and now I've become appathetic.

So...the reason I'm ranting about this here, is because right now all I want is a giant order of pasta w/ breadsticks and maybe some pancakes on the side!!!!!!!

I know this is a bad idea and it's not actually going to happen. But, the stress can't be good for my waistline!

...sigh...

 oh man - that stinks - hope you feel a little better after typing all that! a small reward wouldn't be bad, but I think the whole pasta / pancake thing has to go  I've been in those jobs - healthiest thing to do is get out of it. know it is hard in this economy, but keep your eyes open. good luck

that is super ****ty. I have a week or two stint every once in a while where I hate my job too lol I'ts 'cool' on paper, but f'n stressfull!

My opinion on jobs, You spend more time at work and with the people you work with, than you do at home!

Gotta gotta like what you're doing ... My poor mumma has hated her job for over 25 years! But now sh'es at the point where she's 6 years off retirement and can't risk her pension plan ... it's kinda sad, cuz though she has security ... she has hated half her life for the past 25 years!

    Hi,

I can sympathize. The stress on my job has taken a toll on me. They are not hiring anyone else any time soon and a lot of times I can't get out of here on time.

I'm taking my life back, though. I'm working out when I can and really trying to focus on my food. Keeping track of it really is eye-opening. When I eat peanut butter out of the jar, I record it and I estimate high. I need to see that.

Don't turn to the food now. It won't help and you'll only feel worse! You're in the right place for support.

    Hang in there.

:frown: Trust me - I totally know the feeling. It's been a very bad week for me at my job too.
Been on the verge of tears all week, and I am not a cryer!
Been totally stressed and found out that I am majorly a stress eater! It's been really hard to not say F the healthy eating. But I know if I did that I would just feel worse about everything.
    URGH!

I'm sorry that your job blows. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise.
    Keep your chin up!

Sorry to hear about that!!! Maybe you can think of something else that is a little reward? Sometimes I buy a new CD or DVD, or go see a movie? I try to find something else to look forward to. But it is hard, I totally agree. I had some bad news from my close friend yesterday and was so sad, all I wanted was to eat something yummy... I could not get rid of the feeling... I ended up eating a skinny cow bar, I know it is not that high in calories, but I am sure it is still not too healthy and I did not need it at 10 pm :(

Hang in there!!! It sucks to be in this position at work...
  • Don't give up! Chocolates usually help cheer you up. It stimulates your happy hormones. Just don't eat too much of it though. Job can sometimes get on our nerves I can relate to that. If its too much already why not quit it. It's not worth the added lbs and added wrinkles.

Thanks everyone. No pasta, no pancakes. The rant + the support makes me feel way better. Instead I went home for left overs.

I'm very grateful to have a place like this.

    You all Rock!

I feel your pain. Im a 911 operator/dispatcher. The job is stressful enough. But with all the city cut backs and all the other politics, its started to get worse. Last year we got a new manager over our department, and she loves to micromanage and has no prior 911 experiance, which has only added to our stress among other things. I finally just decided Im going to take start college(Since I skipped that part after high school and joined the marines instead) and get a degree and eventually move on. Im still working there and going to school. Im just proud that I started college and has giving me a positive force in my life and something to be proud of. If you dont want to quit your job, i recommend atleast finding something else in your life to be proud of and to focus on. And who knows, you could turn that into a career.
