Hi,

I am new to MTP and sorry if this has been covered a billion times before but when I am logging my workouts for the day under the cardio section it only gives me a small selection of things to choose from. When checking in on friends pages I see that they can log programs like bodypump and combat. I'm wondering how I can get that on my page and how do you know around how many cals it would burn?

For the calories you will have to search online how many calories your exercise burns. I use this site to figure out my calorie burn amount >>>> http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php.
And as for login it in on MFP just click on Cardio then instead of searching click on the bottom button where it says "Create a new exercise" type the name of your workout, the time and calories burned.

Well I don't think you'll find body pump or combat but have you looked at the full data base of exercises available on MFP?

I didn't find them till months after I joined but maybe that just shows how slow I am. Anyway if you click on your Exercise tab and then look on the blue bar immediately below those tabs on the Exercise page you will see an entry for Database. That will take you to a page where you can type in an exercise in a box to the left or more to the point I am trying to make, hit the arrow beside the box on the right to see a list of the exercises they have.

I found that I had often been just using the wrong wording...ie housework is not in the data bank. Cleaning is. Weight lifting is not in the data bank, strength training is.

They use HRM's for their calorie burns and input their workout and calorie burns manually.

    Hi,

if you check out the les mills website (www.lesmills.com) you can find a breakdown of the average calories burned in each of the classes, such as body combat and body pump.

    Good luck x
