I have marked myself as mainly sedentary as I sit at a desk for 5.5 hours a day. I walk to school and home each day should I log this as exercise or not? Its about 3-5 miles a day depending on the weather, if its bad we get a bus home but always walk in which is just under 3 miles.

If it was me I would log it, especially if you have put yourself as sedentary. That is what I've put myself at but if I'm up and walking much then I log it :-)0

Yip.
Sedentary is sitting on your butt alllllllll day long, if that is what you are going to set your activity level at, you need to add things like this, because, well, a walk is not sitting on your butt.0 -

Hit the nail on the head... Is that how the saying goes?
If you mark yourself above sedentary MFP will take it into account, if you mark yourself as sedentary you have to log it (which would be more accurate).0 -
i also have myself set as sedentary since i dont have a job so sit on my butt all day. So i count every walk and workout it do also when i do heavy cleaning where i sweat like vaccum and mop the whole house i log0
