Anyone else trying to get hot by their wedding day?

Hi! If you're like me and you want to be slammin' for your honey on the big day, lets talk! I want to drop -at the very least- 10lb by mid July. Not only do I need motivation, but I'm already feeling a little :noway: from planning, making dresses, work, and applying for scholarships (I'm a college student).. Yes, I'm easily overwhelmed. It would just be nice to hear from someone who has any experience or shared sympathies on the matters at hand. So lets hear it, hehe..

Hi there..yes! I am indeed trying to be as pretty as possible for my wedding day in October...not so much weight to lose but I want my waist to be as small as possible and to have slim toned arms as I am wearing a greek goddess style dress.
I am having my wedding abroad so it makes it hard to plan though it is small so i feel ya!!!!

Well, not my wedding, but my nephew's on the 24th. I hate to go there looking like somebody's grandmother (which I am). I'm pretty sure I won't make that 10 pounds in that short time frame. Just found out about the wedding. Good luck to you!

A small wedding abroad?! I'm jealous. That's how we wanted it, but we come from very large families so we couldn't get away with that haha.. Our honeymoon will make up for it though. I'm looking to get rid of these nasty love handles I got, and to slim down my man arms as well! Based on your picture, it looks as though you have a much better starting point than I. The goddess style dresses are gorgeous! Mine is going to be a custom made lace trumpet (Its really not as fancy as it sounds). Good luck!

Hi... yes me! My wedding day is November 2013. So about six months away. I think I have about 10kg to lose which by conversion is about 22Ibs. Argh! My dress is being made currently and arrives end of August. I ordered it the size I am now, but am hoping to take it in to reveal a nice slender waist and toned body! (The lady said taking it in to go down a size or two will be no problems :-) )
So... any ideas on how to tone arms? I have weights but find them a little boring... I might leave them next to the couch and do sets every ad break when I watch TV!
Went for a jog/walk for 45mins before... first exercise in a while so feeling positive. Btw, nice to meet you all. :-)

    Hey girls,
I am getting married in 2014 but will start looking for dresses soon & I want to drop 10 more pounds so I feel as confident as possible with my choice. I just went from a size (street) 12 to a size 8 and feel a million times better about everything. Happy for all of you! Good luck with your goals!

Well, It's good to hear from all of you. Congratulations! As someone who is easily bored by gyms and monotonous workouts, I'm curious to know what you guys do for a fun workout? I've been going to Zumba- which has been amazing! I wasn't much of a dancer and I'm really shy but it's the one workout that goes by super fast for me. And I'll soon be going back to Muay Thai training. I'm also having my fitness/mauy thai instructor put together a few workouts that use circuit training-which combines cardio with weight lifting. Sounds like a lot after putting it all down eh? But I just like to switch it up cuz I get bored and I want to be well rounded so to speak. Oh yeah, I'm also broke (college student), so I can't always do these things and I'm often short on time. I'm sure a lot of us are in the same boat here, sooo any suggestions?..

Oh, and to comment on some previous posts -if you are looking to tone your arms (higher reps with less weight). And/Or work on your cardio some more. Concentrating on working out one area of your body (stomach, arms, etc) will build your muscle but you wanna lose fat too. So +cardio. Of course you shouldn't just take my word for it -although I spend a lot of time around fitness instructors. I'm just some weirdo on the internet, but you can always look it up. And about the fast food, what I do when I know I'm going to be super busy is cook a bunch of stuff on Sunday. Things that I can take with me throughout the week. It's not super easy on a students budget but it helps even when I can only put together a few things. So when I'm out and I get hungry I can just reach for something that's already portioned out and made (like fast food!) but it's my fast food. I gotta be honest though, I love to eat. I'd rather just workout extra so I can eat more. I like eating mostly healthy but I don't do diets. Cuz.. Food is good.

I am getting married in september and dieted a whole year for this. I also bought my dress, but it's too big and I'll have to alter it around august. The lady at the store told me US sizes are more generous :D

Wow - 18kgs lost! Go you - that's inspiring. Thanks for all the helpful advice everyone. Loving this thread.
I also find that it helps to plan in advance. Especially for lunch and dinner, know what you are having early on in the day so you can make allowances for it (calorie wise or do extra exercise) if need be. Carry healthy/low calorie/easy to eat snacks with you in your bag in case you get tempted at a cafe, in the car, out with friends etc.
