Feeling faint while lifting.

Been on a calorie deficit of 1600-1700 (I'm 5'9 166lbs) for about two weeks now. Today while I was in the squat rack I got a little faint and I had to pause a few times, the faintness was coming and going during my whole workout. I'm thinking I might not be getting enough calories. I lift heavy 4 days a week and bike commute 6 miles a day about 5-6 days a week.
Any thoughts, opinions, experiences?

Also, my goal right now is fat loss. Hence the calorie deficit.
Heh, I probably should have posted this in Nutrition.0 -
although being in a cal deficit could be the cause, it is probably due to the blood rushing from the upper part of ur body to ur legs and the up and down motion from the squats.0

this is normal when you lift heavy..you'll get used it in time.0

Huh, yeah I thought about that. I just had never had that happen to me before.0

Have you recently started training on an empty stomach?0

I haven't, I've been eating about 30 minutes to an hour before training.0 -
It very well could be from not eating enough. 1600 calories at your height is very little. Your TDEE looks to be around 2400 at moderately active. A 20% cut is very aggressive for fat loss, but that would still put you at 1900 as a daily goal. If you feel weak, faint, your lifts are suffering, etc, then it is likely that you need 1) more rest or 2) more fuel. And at 1600-1700 my first guess if you need more fuel.
For reference, I'm 34, 5'8, weight 161-163ish and lose weight on 2k a day. I life 3x per week, pretty much no cardio at all but spend much of my day on meet as a mom to little ones.0 -

Yeeah, I'm inclined to agree with you. I've just been so dead set on reaching my goal weight (155) that eating over my current calorie allotment makes me feel like I'm going to put on a million pounds. Gotta get out of that mind set. More calories it is. Thank you!
Envious of those arms btw, heh.0 -
Has it happened during non-squatting days? Squatting seems to make certain people dizzy, especially beginners.0

No, it hasn't. I've never had the problem before and I've been in and out of the squat rack for about two months now. I do think it has to do with my calories for the most part, on top of maybe just having an off day.0 -
Make sure you're breathing, I've known some people to accidentally hold their breath through their whole set of squats.0
