Is it the same number of calories

if you complete a certain work out in a longer amount of time, with the same intensity in each movement, but with some breaks in between? I find that myself having to pause for breath a lot during my cardio workouts (plyometrics, kickboxing and stuff) but I work on each move as hard as possible. I mean I don't modify any moves.

But if I've taken longer than how it goes in the video, do I burn the same number of calories?

I think so. I can't walk very fast for example. I am not sure how fast I go but it's not fast. So instead of taking a quick 30 minute walk a couple times a day I take an hour or an hour and a half twice a day. In my case it might be more calories burned. Might be more in your case as well. In general I think longer work outs are better. The longer you burn the more fat you burn off.

Oh I meant if I'm doing it for longer than usual because I'm taking breaks. Like I exercise for 15 minutes or so, pause for breath and start again. But I pause a lot. Will I burn then same number of calories? Or have I blown my workout?

It's probably the same. The amount of calories you burn are determined by the amount of effort you put.

I'm even inclined to say you burn more provided your pauses aren't 10 minutes long.

I don't pause for 10 minutes. But I do pause for 2-3 minutes every 1-2 circuits.

Earlier when I was doing the 30 Day Shred and was totally new to circuit training, I would take breaks too but eventually I was able to finish it with not more than a few 30 second pauses. But I notice with my current workouts- Banish Fat/Trouble Zones I just need a break to be able to get through. I don't modify any moves though- I do all the hard moves. But with breaks.
