Confused about calorie intake

Hi,
So I've decided to start using myfitnesspal again but I've been so confused. Do I eat the amount of calories that I need per day without including the amount of calories I can eat after exercise or can I eat a bit over my daily intake?
My daily intake should be 1670 calries, and after today, (made a mistake of having too much oatmeal with normal milk), I have gone over the daily intake by around 400 calories but when I add in the amount of calories that I've burnt, it says I'm in the green. Is this ok?
Many thank in advance,
-VHK

  • yep, this is absolutely fine :) exercise serves the purpose of burning off excess calories / buying extra calories (well, that's the way i see it)

but it's ok if you go over the calorie count by a couple hundred every now and again, just try not to make it a habit, i guess? :)

    Yep, it's okay.

If I wanted to lose 2lbs per week.. I need to eat 1350 calories at most.... without exercise. But since I burn about a 1000 a day running - I should be eating 2350.
