Well, I'd figure they'd survive based on sheer numerical superiority.

    There goes my lunch!
  • Don't know that I could ingest a cockroach... but I have actually enjoyed silk worm larvae and grilled scorpion. <--- enjoyed is the right word, i swear. But they must be prepared. None of that Fear Factor isht.

Its only because you are not used to them - my parents tried fried cockroaches in Cambodia, is local delicacy.

Indiginous people in Australia used to eat many insects.

But to some people in the world, things we eat or drink seem revolting - I know in many parts of the world drinking animal milk was considered revolting - yet is commonplace to most of us.

    Cultural difference, thats all.

    not very vegan friendly.

I have seen labels with cochineal on them in the shops, that is a insect! Otherwise known as e120, Carminic acid, Carmines Natural Red 4 - colouring, you could be eating insects already and not even know it.

I'm one of those who will try just about anything once. How bad can it honestly be if they're considered delicacies in some parts of the world? If they were prepared in a nice way, I would try it. It would be better than starving. I will draw the line at eating anything that's still alive though...nothing squiggling and squirming!

If you eat shellfish, you really shouldn't feel so squeamish about eating insects. There's not a lot of difference.
  • It's okay for me, but it depends on what kind of insects.

Seems like I eat a couple of bugs every time I ride my bike. They'd probably taste a lot better cooked and seasoned properly.

Riight... So in a few decades we'll start to run out of insects like we're apparently running out of cows, fish and vegetables...

What're we gonna eat then? Or are they thinking that eating bugs is so gross that everyone will eat way less?

Insects are some of the few that breed in the hundreds and thousands. And unlike cows, fish and vegetables, many species have survived for thousands of years through extinction events.
