Anyone want to log their miles in August?

Anyone want interested in checking in here and logging your miles that you walk, ran for the month of August? I was thinking it would be neat to see how far we all could go as a group.

This is something I would be interested in. In High School we had a walking across America challenge and logged how far we walked. I thought it was pretty fun.0

I would love to but can't for August BUT wanted to tell everyone to go to tickerfactory.com and you can create tickers just for this challenge! Also, anyone using a nike + can join the MFP August Challenge on the nike site for a little added inspiration!

I just made myself a shiny new ticker - I want to do 1000 miles - gonna take me all bloody year :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
However, on that ticker I will only be recording my runs, your group is recording walk and runs so I would like to be in on that too.
ps I wish there was a way to bookmark certain posts, so that this one I could keep track of. Even if we could send ourselves a message with the link to this thread in it, that would be fine. Threads get lost so quickly.0 -
I am in! I try to do atleast 15 miles a week so would like to hit atleast 70 miles for the month.0

I am in too! If any of you are interested, on Facebook there is a site called RUNLOGGER and you can keep track of your running/walking everday there but it would be fun and encouraging to keep track here too! Great idea!0

Here is my suggestion:
Group total so far: XXX miles + my miles XXX = XXXXX miles so far
So evertime you log in to add your total copy and paste the last one and add in yours.
What 'cha think? Opinions?
And how about a goal as a group for the month?
Just thinking outloud but it would be cool if our little group could do, say, 2000 miles in the month of August?
There's 20+ of us so far.
I know personally I am going to shoot for 200 miles.0 -

That sounds like a good total since some are planning for a marathon and some not quiet so ambitious. Would we also include miliage from an eliptical or just run/walking?0 -

i think it should be like
TODAY I RAN/WALKED XXXX + MY TOTAL THIS MONTH SO FAR = MY TOTAL
MY TOTAL + GROUP TOTAL = XXXX
so that we can have a total for ourselves as well.. not just the group's0 -
