Semi-Success Story

I've been on the site for a few months, but I'd like to start actively using it more. I just wanted to share a little of my story and how fitness became a part of my life.
About a year ago, my life kinda took a turn for the worse. I was in school for elementary education. I had one more year to go, and couldn't have been more excited. I was in a relationship that was just about to hit 2.5 years. I was 22 and ready to start settling down and really start my life. That was until I got the worst news that any college student would not want to get. Because I had to take a 5th year to finish my degree, I was informed by my financial aid office that my aid was being cut off. They no longer assist students after that 4th year. On top of that, my 2.5 year relationship had just ended due to lack of differences and many disagreements. At this time, I began to realize just how unhappy I was. Throughout my relationship, I had gained so much weight. This was because of many fast food trips, and terrible eating habits. In September 2012, I put my foot down and decided I needed to make some changes. I needed to pick myself up and learn how to become my own person. So, I bought Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and worked my butt off. From there, I began to change my eating habits and cut out a lot of junk. I'd be lying if I said I didn't make the occasional trip to CookOut, but for the most part, I've made some dramatic improvements. I made frequent trips to the gym, about 3-4x a week. I'd do about an hour of cardio and 30 mins of strength. Before I started working out, I was in a misses size 14, pushing into a 16. I'm currently in a size 10, slowly working my way into an 8. I couldn't be more proud of myself, but my journey is far from over! Forgot to add...I DID get back into school, and am working on completing my degree! I have definitely gained a confidence that I didn't think I would ever see!

Don't sell yourself short; that's full-on success!!
You look WONDERFUL .
I know you will see long term success with your positive attitude. I hope that the other details of yourself work themselves out in time, but I know you're learning the strength to carry through whatever comes your way :flowerforyou:.
Edited to add: If you go into photobucket, click to edit your photo, then resize it to 550 wide, it will fit perfectly in your post instead of cutting off your "after" photo. That said, we can all right-click the image and choose "view photo" to see it as it is.0 -
Thanks so much, will try to fix that now!0
