hello! i was wondering, can the exercise database entries be wrong? i walked brisk pace for 20 minutes today and it says I burnt 104 calories or something. sounds a bit too high, no? i was expecting something like 40. is the database reliable for that?

100 calories sounds about right to me, but yes the database calories are often times wrong for various exercises. The only way to get a more accurate reading, though, would be to invest in a heart rate monitor.0

If you have a smart phone, get the Endomondo App. It will also track distance and calculate calories for many different activities.
I've used it for walking, hiking and biking. I even used it to track how far I walked while mowing my lawn.
100 for 20 minutes sounds about right, depending on your weight and speed.0 -
oh, thank you i will download the app as well, thanks for that fishgutzy.0

Almost all of these sites overestimate calories burned. I just use MFP to track my food, and I don't eat back exercise calories, so it works for me.0
