Not to mention, celery is freaking disgusting. Simply don't eat it... then you have your zero calories.

It is a myth, but it is extremely low calorie. But, by the time you clean it, chew it and digest it, the calories absorbed but not burned probably is pretty close to zero.

2 bits of celery is around 7 calories depending on size. I buy it already cut and washed ready to eat.

Celery's only purpose is to serve as a vessel for peanut butter or nutella

Don't forget the raisins. You can't have ants on a log without the ants.

But I like it plain too. Another one of those I hated as a kid and now love.

I'm with you. The only way I can eat celery is if it's chopped up in a soup or something.

Cream cheese is also good on it, but I also like it plain. It's a staple in most of my soups, stews, stir fries and such as well.

Well, if you're desperate to eat something, anything, just as long as you get something to eat, celery is not 0 calories but is definitely low. :P

I concur. Its so rank that I don't think it should even be classed as a food.
  • when you make tuna for a sandwich. use some on the celery ..or put some Tostitos cheese or low cal. cream cheese .. this is not calorie free but it makes it taste better .. good luck lol

Well it's actually sort of true... If you was to eat celery in its raw form with no additions... It'll take more calories eating it (the digestive system) than the food itself so you do get a deficit on it - this is a proven fact I think!

I think this has actually been proven to be a myth.

I'm with the others who hate it. Not even with dip. Yuck.

    So trying that!!

I only like the inside parts, the darker pieces on the outside of the stalk (or whatever it is called) arent sweet enough for me. But I could eat the lighter colored pieces any which way. I prefer it with a veggie dip or peanut butter

I know how to make this worthless vegetable absolutely delicious. Chop it up fine, feed it to the ducks, turn it magically into duck eggs. :)
