Sorry I just have to bust it out! lol
I workout Monday, Wednesday and Fridays with my trainer doing a Intense weight lifting. Then 45 minutes of cardio after. On Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday I do vinyasa yoga for 60 minutes. Sunday I rest.
Well! I just talked my boyfriend (which wasn't really hard to do WAHAHAHAHA) into doing Insanity every morning! Whoop Whoop!
Who loves insanity? Any advice for me?

Insanity is AWESOME! I love it. The only advice I have is to make sure you up your calories if you're adding Insanity in to your regular program (I assume you've already thought through this, but you know). And make sure to give your muscles a little bit of a break at first, since although Insanity is cardio there is a real body-weight-resistance-training component to it. That might make it a tough to lift at full strength on top of Insanity at first, but your body will get used to it if you fuel it right. Mine did. :-)
HAVE FUN! (and impressed you got your boyfriend to do it with you -- my husband just looks at me like I'm crazy when I suggest it! He's classic weight training all the way.)0 -
None yet, but I'm going to start in a few weeks, if I can get the DVDs from my friend. I'm really excited about it!0

Thanks! I have recently upped my caloric intake there for this should fit in perfect. I'm super excited.
I got the sad puppy face look down. haha...however he actually tells me I'm evil when I do it. lol.0 -

Any recommendations on how much one would want to up the calories? I'm already burning around 250 per day from my exercise, and I think this is fairly accurate, because I've been losing about a pound a week like I should. However, Insanity is way beyond anything in the exercise database, so I have no idea how to calculate. I may just go by how hungry I am and try to eat balanced like I do now; I don't think I'm going to keep counting calories per se, but it would be helpful to know how someone who is moderately fit (beyond beginner but definitely not athlete) would burn.0 -

What I've read, on average you burn about 1,000 calories each workout. I also follow a woman on Facebook that does Insanity regularly (https://www.facebook.com/AnabellesCleanEatingAndFitness) and she post her heart monitor results and I've never seen it below 900 calories.0 -
I found a thread from the Beachbody forum that had all kinds of numbers, anywhere from 200-300 up to 1,000. It was more the guys that were higher (logically). I figure I'll give it my best, and I'm just not going to count calories during that time. I'll just eat what my hunger tells me I need. Usually I do fine on about 2 meals a day (though if I'm doing cardio, I eat a special energy bar beforehand, which doesn't count for the two meals), but if I'm hungry in the evening, I'll eat something. The trick will be only eating what I need to feel satisfied, not just eating for the sake of eating. I was at the weight I am now before Christmas, but then I started eating too much at night. Go figure!0

Man, I hate to be a Downbeat Simpson here, but I gotta ask why are you doing 45 of cardio after lifting AND doing Insanity in the morning? Those are both cardio, and Insanity is a kind of metabolic cardio that, when combined with your lifting and other cardio, is really pushing you toward your overtraining lthreshold unless you're prepared to eat like a Cornhusker offensive lineman.
Possible to do either the cardio or the Insanity? Other than that, I like the plan and wish you the best of luck0 -
I know its a lot. But I have seen virtually 0 results in a month in a half so what that tells me is to increase.0

Might I ask how you plan on giving your muscles and nervous system enough rest between workouts?0

I know its a lot. But I have seen virtually 0 results in a month in a half so what that tells me is to increase.
What it should be telling you is to look at the other parts of the equation. Your goal is the result of 3 things:
Nutrition
Exercise
Rest
My guess is your problem is with one of the other two, NOT with exercise.0 -
I am doing INSANITY now and I've been burning between 400-700 cals per workout. I am only on Month 1 but I have heard the 1000 calorie burns, if they do occur, are more likely to happen in the 2nd month.
I don't know much about your activity level but if you are planning on continuing to lift and do cardio and just add INSANITY you are gonna be beat and your workouts you are currently doing may suffer. Only you know your body.0 -

but imagine how much results you will see when you are injured.
i think what dave is suggesting is to maybe look into working out harder, not necessarily longer?
for instance how often are you increasing your weights? how often are you switching up your speeds in the cardio?0 -

That's great... keep it up! How do you keep your energy level to the point where you go almost every day? Im a newbie and I barely have the energy for three days a week. Any post workout supplements?0 -

I eat great. I recentlu increased my calories to 1590. And I sleep 8 hours a night and ni exercise on sundays.
im very intuned with my body I know when its going to shut down (injury such as my back) when this happens im not carel3ss. I stop for a few days, visit a chiropractor, get a message and get out my tens unit.

45 minutes of cardio after weight lifting seems counter productive.
More is not always better...
Good luck though0 -

i think we've isolated the problem. you're working out like an Ikari warrior, but you're eating like you're in a coma.
eat more, workout less. AFTER taking a week off from all exercise.0 -
I'm in my last two weeks of insanity and I absolutely LOVE IT! I'm either going to start Insanity Asylum next or P90x. My advice to you is to DIG DEEP (like Shaun T says) and tough it out! It's VERY tough in the beginning, but worth it in the end! Drink LOTS AND LOTS of water (trust me...your kidneys will thank you).0

Working out like this you should be eating WAY more. No wonder you haven't been seeing results. The problem is with nutrition. Not with exercise.0
