MARATHON TIME!!!

I have lost 32 lbs on MFP and am finally at a "normal" BMI (and what I consider a healthy weight for me). So my next goal is to run a marathon! Two summers (and 32 pounds) ago, I ran a half marathon. This past mother's day, I did a triathalon (ran something like 3 miles, biked 13, and well...instead of swimming I paddled around on my surfboard).
I started my training for the marathon this week..looking for others on a similar schedule to keep tabs on eachother and encourage eachother. My marathon is in Seattle on Nov. 28th. It's 26.3 miles. I ran 3 miles on MOnday and today I'm running 5 miles.
After that, pretty much looks something like this:
Monday: 3 miles
Tuesday: 5 miles
Wednesday: 3 miles
Sat: 1 hr. 10 mins
mond: 4 miles
tues: 5 miles
Wed: 4 miles
Sat: 1 hr 20 mins
Mon: 4.5 miles
Tues: 1 hour (6 miles)
Wed: 4.5 miles
Sat. 1.5 hours
Mon: 4 miles
Tues: 1 hour
wednesd: 4 mil3s
Sat: 1 hour 20 mins
Mon: 4 miles
Tues: 1 hour 10 mins
Wed: 4 mil4s
Sat: 1.5 hours
It basically keeps building up like this until I hit running 3 hours on some lucky saturday ((Oct. 23))
Then it settles into a Mon (1 hour) Tuesday (1 hour 20 mins) Weds (1 hour) Sat (30 mins)schedule until just before the race, everything shoots down to 45 mins or less....and then three or four days before the race I get to chill and eat carbs
Anyways, I'm feeling pretty committed. I'm using a training app on my Iphone which is called Marathon 26.2 (its free, but has lots of ads). If anyone wants to be my trianing MFP buddy, that'd be cool! If anyone has experience and wants to give loving advice, that also would be cool!
My other fitness activities (just FYI) include yoga, chins ups (5 a day and getting better!), pushups (about 10 a day) and I'm starting to do sit ups about every other day (125). But i also live life to the fullest, including surfing, sailing, biking, hiking, & backpacking. I'm also training for the marathon for other nefarious and secretive goals...mwaaahahahaha....which involve hiking up to the tops of volcanoes! Mwaaahahaha! <-- that's my ridiculous sense of humor!

I really want to run a marathon too. I trained for one a couple of years ago and got an IT Band injury after running my last 20 mile training run so I had to pull out last minute!!!! ahhhhhhhh!!!!
I've done a few half marathons too so I feel ready again to start training. I am moving to VA in October/November time so I'm going to look around to see if there is a marathon near there for me to do. I'll let you know if I find one and I'll def keep in touch as it will be nice to have someone to train with even if we are miles apart!0 -
Yes! I'm not looking for a running buddy, so much as someone else who is doing the same thing to talk to about how things progress. Also, I'm just stoked and wanted to post about it!0
