Does anyone else get extremely cold after a workout? After I cool down I get extremely cold even while in a hot shower I am shivering. It take a couple hours for that chill to go away.

No one wants to comment on my coldness. I'm really disappointed. I guess I'm weird because I can't find any info about this anywhere>

I find that I am usually warm after a workout, sometimes my face will stay red for an hour, but once my body cools down, I can’t warm up until I shower and put on warm clothes. I am always cold, even in the summer the AC can give me a chill. I know that I have poor circulation in my hands and feet, but I don’t think that has anything to do with it. It is just the way I am.

when i do weights and HIIT i'm hot for as much as 2 hours afterwards.

when i do regular cardio i'm colder, but not to the point where i'm shivering. on those days i pack a beanie and gloves in my workout bag regardless of the temp  even in the summer time, i walk home from the gym in a beanie, gloves and hoodie

With running, I've sometimes gotten a chill when I'm pushing myself too hard.
  • I'm the same way! I thought it was just me...
I get really cold right after doing cardio. I'm sweating but feel cold; it's odd.
    You're not alone! =)

I sweat a lot and so I get extremely chilled after a workout. I know what you mean about the hot shower part, it takes awhile for me to balance out. I'm also perimenapausal and so my hormones are probably whacked at the same time. Ah the joys of womanhood! Hang in there and wrap up after your work out. I've found getting into dry clothes, if I can't get in the shower, helps.

It has to do with how your body dissipates heat. While working out, your body temperature steadily rises and then plateaus at the ideal point where you can sweat and dissipate heat at a level that keeps your core temperature from getting too high. When you stop moving, especially for the ladies and taller, slimmer guys, your temperature drops back to normal quickly, but you keep sweating for a while, and dissipating heat through the evaporation of that sweat, and depending on your body shape and Mass to Surface area ratio (greater for women and tall, trim men) it affects your core temperature, making you feel cold.
