Chicago for one week in two weeks! I haven't been in 3 years, so I am EXCITED!!
(I live in Florida - we take vacations in cities)0 -
Just back from an amazing 14 day cruise on the Coral Princess thru the Panama Canal - full transit starting in LA with stops in Costa Rica, Panama City, Cartagena Columbia and Aruba and ending in FT Lauderdale. We flew out to LA and flew home (to the NE) from FT Lauderdale - this is an amazing experience - to see this canal in operation while remembering it is almost 100 years old....
Not our first cruise, but our first 14 day - I don't think I can ever go back to a 7 day cruise - how spoiled! Managed to only gain 2.5 lbs which a week later is gone plus another lb lost.... walking the promenade every morning (and seeing whales, porpoise and turtles while doing so!) and taking the stairs instead of the elevator helped to keep the gain down - and being picky about my "cheats".....
Next vacation is in the RV over the 4th of July with the grandkids and 6 other families we have been "camping" with for the last 28 years - tradition! We now have 3 generations going each year!0 -
Ireland in 7 weeks. Not exactly somehwere I have to worry too much about bathing suits, but it's for a family wedding and every visit I've been getting fatter and fatter, so it will be nice to be going in the other direction for once. 7 weeks to lose some inches so I can shop for a great dress for my cousin's wedding!0

I'm a teacher as well and have planned a super exciting vacation: first week off is camping at a local lake with my sis and parents for a week (reading, smores, and relaxing), then roadtripping up to the Adirondacks in New York for some serious hiking, then off to Nepal for a month to explore and volunteer English language lessons (riding an elephant is a MUST this summer!), then back to the Adirondacks for another week to relax with friends (and maybe hike another peak), then a roadtrip back down the coast to NC where I live
Maybe not the most relaxing summer, but so going to be worth it.0 -
I am in the uk and for our first hoilday together, my boyfriend and I are going to a nice hotel in the new forest, late birthday present from my parents-so lovely of them.
I am rather excited to take the other half to beaulea ( classic car exhibition with James bond cars and top gear stuff) and loads of other stuff to see down there. The hotel does afternoon tea as well so that will be brilliant too- leaving in 28 days!

Heading to northern maine for 2.5 months of R&R (after school lets out in mid June) at a very remote campsite where our family has a seasonal along a great river. No cell service and limited internet (if you know the general store owners, as I do, hah ) Its where I spent all last summer, and will again this. So much peace and quiet0

48 days unti I'm on vacation!!!! We are taking a road trip. Going to make our way to Chicago and do a bit of touring there and then from there we're going to get on the old Route 66 and go wherever it leads. So much to see on that old Route. Not making any hotel reservations......going to look for places to stay as we go. Going to be on the road for a week. I've never been further west than Ohio, so I'm excited to see what's out there.0
-
I'm doing Naiyang-Bangkok-Vietnam in Sept. it can't come soon enough0
-
Headed to the beach for a couple days in late June.
The vacation I am really looking forward to though is the first weekend in August when I am going to Canton, Ohio for the NFL Hall of Fame induction ceremony. I am really looking forward to that.0 -
Just got back from a 4 day trip to TN with my daughter to visit my family for my sister's graduation/Mother's Day. Not exactly a "vacation" but it was good to see everyone! Plus, with us living on the Gulf coast of FL, weekends are sometimes like mini vacations themselves. We're going camping the next two weekends here locally and are taking out boat out on the water, etc!0

I leave on the 4th of July for an 11 day vacation in Disney World, SOOOOO excited! I just have to be careful with my food choices when i'm there cause wow fo they have food choices (and i'm on the Dining Plan)!
Hey daisy, I did WDW for 7 nights over New Year's 2012-13 and we were on the Deluxe Dining Plan. You are right about the food choices, just one of the many great things at WDW. Have fun with it and splurge a little. You do an awful lot of walking there and there are also fitness facilities if you need a little extra burn. 200 days until our next visit...0 -
If everything goes my way and it works out, I'll be going on a Greek Isles cruise in September. I did a rather embarrassing, spastic dance thing all over my department office when I found out yesterday...0
