Does it make you feel successful? I love my car and it only stalled once on the way to McDonald's today. And no, I didn't log the large french fries!

Dont know if this is a sarcastic thread or what.... in for a penny in for a pound..
Some people are proud of their cars, iv only been driving for a year, and im super proud of my car, it gets a full clean on a weekly basis and my husband does a full wax an detail of it on a monthly basis (dependant on weather)
Hubby is a "car enthusiast" so he makes sure not only his but others (who pay him good money) cars are in prime condition..
Mine, nickname - Dirty Li'l Corsa, its a dirty diesel engine.

Why do people do anything? Because it's "their thing". I am a car chic. Have been since before I could even drive and that has been a long time now. I was the first girl in my high school to take automechanics...I got an "A" and also became and instant hit with both the jocks AND the stoners...because they were all in their with me.
My official first car was my Dad's hand-me-down 1979 Toyota Celica which I promptly traded some Texas farmer for an old rust-bucket of a '65 Mustang. One of the best things I've ever done, as it launched me into a group of friends and skills that I would have never had otherwise. Now, 25+ years, and 13 Mustangs/Cobras later (and a Corvette), I am completely convinced that my skills turning wrenches directly influenced my ability to be a surgeon. Now, I have my attention turned higher (Aston Martin.....ahhhhhhhhhhhhh) but still drove my Vette into work for the first time in months, because it was a lovely Spring day and I wanted to feel the rumble of the engine and the wind blowing my hair......
It's hard to explain, if you're not into cars, but they just get "into" you.......
edit: clearly I'm better at cars than posting pics.....trying to resize...bear with me....
edit2: FINALLY
edit13: We don't have kids, so........0 -
My mom van is HOT!! :devil:0

The question is why not!
Cars have designs on the exterior for looks not just for travel ... I show off my vw polo 2010 at every chance I get considering this is my first car at the age of 18 (19 now)
The thoughts are just magnified if its a super car :laugh:0 -

I feel i must apologise for my husband, he has just called you some rather rude names....not for the cars, but for the Garage :flowerforyou:
Cars are an expense, so why not have them looking in tip top condition and show them off.
My dream car is an Audi tt.... or any Audi convertable, as it currently stands... iv got about 5 years to wait before i can actually afford the insurance for it... never mind the car itself
I hate the fact i left it so long before learning to drive, im 33 this year and i love my car and the independence it gives me, when it was in the garage for 8days (blown head gaskets/starter motor issues) i was beside myself because i had to rely on public transport/hubby/rides from co-workers.... ball ache!
My personal pet peve is getting into peoples car who dont look after them, im not talkin the whole 'cba to wash them let the rain do it crowd' im talking about the people who use their cars as bins and your literally stepping over empty packets/bottles and rubbish before you can sit down.... makes my skin crawl.0 -
I love cars, whether it's a beater or prototype, cars are awesome0

LOL! best post i've seen all day0

Cars are a great thing to personalize to your liking. And if you do it in a tasteful manner, you get a lot of compliments on it, even if it's not a new BMW, haha
Sh**, I drive a Civic, and a '69 Ford truck, both somehow inspire jealousy despite modest price tags - its awesome!0 -
You mirin'?

I don't show off my car, my car shows me off. :drinker:
I feel so used.
I had a '72 Chevelle Malibu with a 400. Now that car, I would show off. Sadly I lost it in a barn fire in 2005. The fire was so hot the car pretty much melted, since then I haven't had the urge to buy a classic muscle... However, I do still dream of the heavy chevy chevelle with a 454... Blue. Mmmmm.0 -

I was raised by a 'mechanic' who loved to fix up cars and a mom who loved to drive 'em fast. I am more like my mom, but I have always enjoyed a great car!!!!! Profile is my current baby.0
