    I would love to but can't for August BUT wanted to tell everyone to go to tickerfactory.com and you can create tickers just for this challenge! Also, anyone using a nike + can join the MFP August Challenge on the nike site for a little added inspiration!

    Count me in. This is a great challenge. I log my workout miles on dailymile.com but will also log them here. Between work and workouts, I want to average 10 miles per day. ( I wear a pedometer that I have calibrated with my treadmill and gps.)

    I want to make sure I am logging correctly. Is it just running and walking miles or are any sports requiring running also okay? I play soccer a couple times a week and want to know whether or not to include that.

    I'd like to participate as well. I REALLY need some sort of goal to shoot for. I'm going to aim for a minimum of 50 miles in August - but plan to exceed that number. Thanks for the idea - looking forward to it. :)

    Sweet! I'll join since I want to keep up my running and want some external pressure to do so.

    I also typically walk 3 miles/day roundtrip to work. Should I count that too?

    i know it actually starts on sunday, but i ran 1.74 miles tonight with hubby. :)

    Yay I really want to do this too. What a great idea! I think it will help me running on the boring treadmill if I know I have to log in the miles on here!

    I'd say workout miles only, commuting to work (although overall count) should not be included in this challenge.

    And BTW, wooohooo on 10 miles per day!!!! That is awesome.

    This is a tough one but I'd say no biking miles. Someone challenge me if you think that's not fair. I am saying no because its a walk/run/jog challenge. Opinions?

    i think it should be like

    TODAY I RAN/WALKED XXXX + MY TOTAL THIS MONTH SO FAR = MY TOTAL

    MY TOTAL + GROUP TOTAL = XXXX

    so that we can have a total for ourselves as well.. not just the group's

    This is great but one thing, I think it should also include each person's monthly goal, so maybe this is better (?) :
    ~MY~ Goal for August: 50
    Today I walked 3.3 + ....which makes my total so far this month 10.6

    ~GROUP~ Goal for month 2000 miles
    3.3. is my total for today + 1023 for the Group total so far =
    1026 miles

    Can I join in? I do my C25K about 4 days a week. I have never thought about how many miles I do in a week or a month. This would be fun to track.

    Aug 1 = 4.5 miles

    ~GROUP~ Goal for month 2000 miles
    3.25. is my total for today + 4.5 for the Group total so far = 7.75 miles
  • MY goal for August: 80 miles

    Aug 1- 4 miles Total Month- 4 miles

    GROUP total = 11.75

    Today I went 3 miles + 0 miles which makes my total so far this month = 3 miles total

    I could do this, too.
    Are you counting just walking/running, or could we add in our miles on the Stationary Bike, Treadmill, Ellipticals,etc?
