Calories?

So, MFP gave me a calorie goal of 1410. I'm not losing much on this (maybe .8llbs and gaining a pound or so back). I tried a couple other calculators and they both gave me calories of about 1700 to lose roughly 1.5lbs a week. I'm afraid to bring my calories up to 1700 if I am gaining on 1400. Any ideas?

Probably about 3 weeks. Not too long but I figured it was long enough to see something and not be gaining.0 -
Are you logging any exercise and eating the earned calories back? That usually brings MFP in line with the other calculators.
The gain you saw was probably water weight from any number of factors. Hormones, sodium, starting a new exercise routine, stress, etc will all cause our bodies to hold onto water for a bit. Make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids to help flush out any excess.0 -
I tried looking at your diary but it does not seem like you are logging consistently. If you do not log it is hard to know if you are or aren't close to your calorie goals. If you eat the same thing everyday just pre-log and add anything "extra". I used to think I was eating healthy and within my calorie goals until I started logging and realized I was WAAAAy off.0

1410 sounds like a good place to start if you're eating back your exercise calories. 1700 is most likely based off your TDEE which means you do not eat your exercise calories back. In looking back at your diary it looks like you're not using MFP to log your calories? Are you logging them someplace else? How do you know you're eating at your calorie goal? Logging everything accurately and consistently will get you results. Be patient and stick to the plan! :flowerforyou:0 -
You really need to give a bit more detail for anyone to help you. Is your diary open? What if any exercise are you doing? How long have you been trying to lose weight for?0
