Confused.....

I have read some of the Newby stuff and other postings.. My questions is should I or shouldn't I be eating my exercise calories? I really don't want to under or over do it.

I log my exercise in my food notes after my dietician suggested I do it that way. It is so I can see the exercise I am doing and yet not add to my calories. I don't use the exercise tracker and there fore I don't get the extra calories. I have about 150-170 pounds to lose so I want every calorie burned off. I also find it screws with my food choices and I start making excuses and higher calorie choices.

Some days I eat back my calories other days I don't eating back your calories isn't really a problem the point is to keep your body at a deficit. 500 calories is a good deficit to roll with. If you have extra calories and your are starving eat some of them MFP ensures that if you do not eat over the limit for the day you will still lose weight.

So again treat yourself sometimes and eat those calories back. Not getting enough calories does not help anyone's cause when losing weight some people actually do not lose unless they start eating back calories.

    Best of luck to you!
  • A rule of thumb, eat breakfast, a snack(fruit & protein), lunch(healthy) a snack(all protein) and dinner(healthy). If you are working out every day, a protein snack is ok. If that falls below your calories, do NOT eat more. Now having said that, make sure you are getting the correct about of carbs in because not doing so will hinder your energy for working out and weight loss. If you need help on a regimen, I would be more than happy to help. Blessings.....

i eat 1400 cals a day and was only eating 1200 i found out 1200 was to low for my activity level i run 3.5 miles 3 times a week and lift weights my goal is 145 im hoping to do it in 10 months or less, my fitness pal helps alot i really follow it and make sure i dont go over the amount of sugar , carbs or fats im suppose to eat for the day, i dont count my exercise with my cals because i wont to loose faster, but i really think that is a personal judgement if you want to eat your exercise cals hope this helps!

Yeah you should and I'd say 300-500 calorie deficit is good, if you're losing fat. Food = Fuel.

Yeah that's good if you can cope with that, but aslong as she's on calorie deficit she should lose weight, me myself I find you crave if you don't eat back your used calories, but that's me.
