44 Days...

I started using myfitnesspal.com the day after New Year's Day and have stuck pretty religiously to it since then. I weighed 272 when I started. I didn't take neck measurements, etc. but have been weighing in every four or five days. I chose to start between 1,500 and 2,000 calories a day. I'm 58 and male. I have planned to exercise, but haven't found the motivation to do that seriously yet. Since I work 8 to 5 it's pretty easy to avoid snacking all day (weekends are tougher). I've gone from that initial 272 lbs to 251 lbs in 45 days. I use the web app, my iPad, and my iPhone for keeping track. I've found just about everything I've eaten in the database, which is great. I've not had to guess too much. I even log in chewing gum as a snack. It's nice to be able to track my vitamins, too. I find I am more regular about taking them each day, including a low dose aspirin. I hope I can stick with it! I would like to get down to about 225 by June. I've been in and out of Weight Watchers many times but it just didn't seem as convenient as this method, at least for me. So far I am very happy with this.
