As everyone else here, my goal is to lose weight. As most people here, I have bee unsuccesful before. I am no good at sticking with diets, mainly because I am a carb and sugar addict. Other than that, my habits are really quite good. I drink a lot of water, eat fruits and veggies, excercise... but I crave my ice cream and bread...
So, now I am counting calories, and hoping that naturally takes me away from bad foods. I have lost about 3 pounds in a couple of weeks, so it's not so bad, but I'm scared I won't be able to hold it up.
A couple of years ago I got divorced and joined an online divorce support website. It was a lot of help to talk to other people in circumstances similar to mine, so I'm hoping this community will have the same positive effect on me.

Welcome! I can understand the whole carb/sugar addiction--but the best part is that it really is an addiction, and once you break the cycle the "need" really goes down. It's nice to have a nice treat every so often, but I find most days I'd rather have a salad with protein rather than a giant plate of pasta and dessert. Stick with the plan and listen to your body and I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting where you're going.

    Good luck!

Welcome! I have been on this site and my life changing journey for going on 2 weeks. In one week I lost 3lbs by changing my eating habits (calorie counting) and exercise (all treadmill walking). I am really focused on putting in at least 20 minutes of walking a day. I am working really hard at drinking more water, but like yourself I crave the carbs. Since i've been so focused on counting calories, I have been really working on portioning my foods, so I can still enjoy the carbs, but in smaller portions and after almost 2 weeks it's getting easier by the day to eat smaller meals. Yes of course it's a struggle, but I am bound and determined to not give up. I have a right to a fit body and happier me, and so do you! Add me as a friend and we can keep pushing eachother!
