ARMY STRONG

after many many many years of being overweight, wondering where my life was going, i have finally found the strength in my self and support from my husband to chase my dream of being in the US Army. I am currently and EMT and Volunteer Firefighter, this dream was realized with the help of my husband pushing me to be the best i can and follow my dreams. in college i had studied to be a Firefighter and was injured (due mostly to my weight, lack of strength and discipline) and thought for sure that those dreams were gone. after i met my husband i had told him about my dream of fire/ems service he jumped right on helping me obtain those dreams. now that i have seen that through hard work, you can achieve your dreams, I am going to pursue my dream of serving in the US Army.
i was nervous about bringing the subject up with him. in the past NO ONE has supported my decision to even consider enlisting but much to my surprise he was all for it. we went down to the recruiters office and spoke about what it takes to be army strong. the first thing they said is that i wasn't at weight and they wouldn't waste any more of my time until i got there. So here i am. step one of becoming ARMY STRONG is meting weight. i want to have my weight down in the next six months so i can spend the winter studying for my ASVAB test. my goal is to be enlisted and heading for basic training next year. here i am at 5,7" and 226 lbs with a bmi of 46% and i need to be down around 160 lbs with a bmi of less that 32%. heres to the next year of preparing mind body and spirit to be... ARMY STRONG!
