What to eat at the ballgame??

Any ideas on the best food choices at the baseball stadium? Hot dog? Peanuts are healthy, but loads of fat and who can stop at a handful? Suggestions on what to eat without sabotaging my weight loss and still enjoy the game?? Thanks.

    Can you get a grilled chicken sandwich, hold the bun? I'd go with a small bag of peanuts, maybe and a bunless hot dog or two.

    might be best if you bring your own food... don't get me wrong a blow out every now and again is ok but it's sometimes best to stay safe and just bring a protein bar or you could pop your own popcorn before hand, i'm guessing they have diet soda there too?

    How about sneaking in a healthy meal replacement bar....lol. Or water and popcorn?
    Seriously, I would make sure you either go with full stomach, or make sure what you eat beforehand is low in sodium.

    When I know I'm going to be going to a ball game I make up for it the rest of the day, or even the next. I'll workout twice as long, or I'll eat something light and simple for lunch. I know our ball park has a lot healthy options, you just have to look around. We even have a vegetarian "hot dog". Most of the ball parks use name brand products so you can look up what you're eating before you go =)

    ^ This!! I'm originally from Philadelphia, so when I hit up a Phillies game, the food and beer is as good as the baseball. I just work extra hard and make sure I get back on track the next day. But for your enjoyment check out this gallery:

    A single ball game isn't going to sabotage anything. It's one stinkin' ball game. Think of it like this...if someone eats like total **** most of the time...nothing but junk food, etc except on Mondays they eat at least 5-6 servings of veg...fruit...lean proteins and they go for a walk, does that make them "healthy?" Of course not...there overall lifestyle is for ****. Now just flip that around...you eat a lot of fruit and veg and lean proteins and whole grains most of the time and you regularly exercise...is a slice of pizza or hot dog at a ball game going to "sabotage" your lifestyle? I think not.

    Even one day full of popcorn, peanuts, cracker jacks, hot dogs and beer will not sabotage your weight loss. Eat what you want - in moderation or not - and go back to being thoughtful the next day. If you do go balls to the wall, you'll retain a bunch of water for a few days. That is NOT FAT. Drink some extra water and live life as usual.

    It depends on what your personal strategy is. I tend to agree with those who say eat what you want, log it, and get right back on track the next day. But if you are in all-or-nothing mode and are worried that it will throw you off track, sneak in your own healthy food or eat what fits your plan before and after and stick to water at the game.

    There is absolutely no chance I'd go to AT&T park and not get a crab sandwich- just can't do it ;) . Luckily, they are small, but I have no idea of the cals or fat.

    I just accept that as my treat and since I'm only eating one and washing down with one (ok, maybe two) beer(s) - no biggie.

    If I went more than once or twice a year, I'd have to reconsider how often I could have my treat, but now, since I know it's rare and I know it's coming, I just go for it.

    I guess if ballpark food is worth it- for the taste or the experience, then save up some cals during the week and make it something you will really enjoy and not just eat because it's there.

    If not, then eat before you go, or sneak in one of the snacks from the excellent suggestions given.

    nothing...just bring your almonds, mini water and fruit (grapes)...chow before the game...oh but peanuts and maybe half a juice with lots of ice:-)

    Honestly...

    There really aren't many things to eat at a ballpark that are going to be super healthy. Just relax, stick to water for drinks, and enjoy the game. So what if you have a hot dog....you can't go to a base ball game and not have a hot dog...after all it is tradition.

    Just pick it right back up the next day. One hot dog, or one thing of nachos will not ruin your new lifestyle.

    I went to an Indians game yesterday and had a vegan hotdog. DO NOT GET ONE! They are horrible. Honestly, I wish I had a hot dog since one every couple of months wont hurt. My advise...don't deprive yourself, eat healthy the rest of the day, and have one reasonable sized treat.

    Honestly, I would eat Before I went. First of all, the food is way expensive and not worth the price. Second, it's all crappy foods, processed everything, high in fat. I would go ahead and just eat right before you go, that way you aren't hungry again til after the game.

    Last season I went to like every Nats game so I couldn't get away with scarfing down pizza every game. Instead, I brought a bag of baby carrots, a protein shake, and a small container of blueberries.

    We have a partial season ticket plan to Nats too. I always go with a hotdog, split some fries and a vodka/soda. I make sure to have around 600 calories for games. Just enjoy it.

    Oh my...I'm in Florida...game at the Tropicana in St. Pete's. Thanks for the web site ...and their suggestion is the "Cuban" ! Well, why not just pig out and have a good time with all the bread, salami, ham, port, oodles of melted cheese, etc. etc. Yes you only live once! lol! On a more serious note I ate before I went and while there splurged on peanuts and a glass of wine!

    I have season tickets to games and most of the time I TAKE my own food. The park is just TOO expensive and derailing. But if you really want to buy something get one hot dog and maybe some peanuts. :)
