Good morning everyone!
I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am to have found this group on the first day I signed up for MFP. You are all so supportive and inspiring! I had an online food diary once before (on fitday.com, I believe) that only lasted for a few days. I didn't get involved with any of the forums or message boards on there, so it was pretty boring. Being a part of this group has really helped me stick with it and be mindful of my eating and exercise. So, I just wanted to thank you all for being so welcoming! :happy:
We're having a baby shower for a co-worker today! Cake, ice cream, and punch (oh my!)...
I think I'm slightly obsessed with my heart rate monitor... I love that darn thing. Since I bought it, all I can think about is what workout I should try next to see how many calories I actually burn doing it. I'm trying a TRX Suspension Training class tonight at the gym. I've done it before, but without the HRM. It's tough!! Can't wait to see what kind of burn it gives me!0 -

You know me, stop by real quick, update you all and run off to study for yet another few weeks! Well, I have been doing some soul searching and I already told you guys about my lose 7lb/month challenge (right?) I've also been reading Eat, Pray, Love... and well, I LOVE IT! and on top of all that on the day before my 25th bday my med school love proposed. And well, I'm ENGAGED!! (Sidenote: made me want to relive that commercial, " OMG HE WENT TO JARED! " lol, not sure if you have seen that commercial but I think it's cute)We've had our ups and downs over the past 3 years but I've learned that even on our bad days, I'd rather be with him. So anyways, I'm happy and surrounding myself with positive ppl and thoughts Just wanted to share!! Life is getting more exciting each day. Oh and I got to get "the Lump" checked out on Friday. :-/ Wish me luck! Positive thoughts!

quick read by for me. i have a "BUYER" and a "SELLER" i am working with. i had been asking if i should keep going and putting out all this money. there are two of my answers.
tiff...."he went to jared" love the crossword one best. ups and downs go with the whole package. today is our "33rd" anniversary, and believe me there are plenty of ups and downs. Last night at bible study he told them that through the years we have loved each other, there were just time we didn't like each other. that's the way it is.
gotta get to work and find out where my repairman is. and they are tearing up the end of my street. i live on a court. now i am stuck unless i want to wait for the flagman to get me out.

Tiff...YAY!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is so exciting! And on a birthday makes it so memorable! My husband did the same...for my golden birthday (Sept. 23rd) he threw me a surprise party with our family and closest friends and proposed right before my cake!! It was fabulous!! And it's all on video! Sometimes guys know how to do it right!! Enjoy every moment of wedding planning...and when it isn't working out exactly as planned, just remember that all that matters is you and him. Have fun!

AFM: Yesterday was so busy! Being doing great eating and exercise-wise! Tonight will be shred day 4 level 3 since starting over. Did I mention yet that Kadence is now WALKING!!!!! Crazy!! And she waves hello and goodbye and says "tsitty" for kitty and puppy! It's SO cute!!! Can't believe it's only another month and a bit until she's ONE!!! Where did the time go?!
For today...
Food plan:
B-Kashi Berry Crisp cereal, skim milk, coffee w/sugar free creamer
S-banana, Kashi breakfast bar
L-Cucumber dill hummus, turkey, cheese, spinach, tomato, and broccoli slaw on a whole wheat and flax wrap, light yogurt, baby carrots.--YUM!
S-Fuji apple, almonds
D-Tilapia, couscous, green beans
S-Red grapes, popsicle, Kashi granola bar

Thanks Lullabelle, chipper, and kristin! I bought a book on "planning a wedding and whoa. lol. there is a LOT involved. But I've already figured out that it planning it now would still be easier than waiting til my residency (next year). hmm... lots to consider!
On the weight side of things, I bought a book on nutrition... gonna try to do better about that.and even though I have not been watching my cals this past week, it has not caused me problems yet! I'm going to get back to it though, cause now I REALLY need to reach my goals! lol! OK, gotta study! i'll be back later to read everyone's posts and respond!

Tiff - congrats so exciting enjoy this you only do it once.... I am so happy for you and I want to get that book you mentioned it looks great.
Kristin - It is amazing how fas they grow up, I still look at dd and say wow we are parents and when did she get so big... gotta love the little things
Cathy - sounds like things are turning around hope your day is going well.
AFM Busy day today but going well our apt. is clean for once since our vaca and now to get all the laundry done, I am trying to get everything done so that way we can enjoy our weekend. DH has been working so hard since we got back and it looks like they will be getting even more overtime soon. So he will be working 10 to 12 hour days coming up, yes the paycheck is great but I know it wears him down. So I figure the more I can do at home the easier it makes his life, plus next week dd starts daycare and I start working 2 more days a week. Should be good looking forward to the change, but I know if will take a little bit getting used to.
Today I signed up with Herbalife so that way I get a discount on the shakes and vitamins I buy through them. I have been using them in the morning and love the vitamins, they seem to help clear out my system and I can use that due to the meds I have to be on and have been on for so many years. So I hope to see some more results with that as well. Trust me I wont be doing the 3 times a day just cant do that, but do love them in the mornings for breakfast with a banana.
Welll gotta run for now laundry is ready to be changed and have to finish up our bedroom befor I go to work tonight filling in for another girl.

quick check in again today. have a showing this afternoon. need to get paperwork ready, some sort of workout in, shower, repairman coming today, get ready for nephew to return, make sams shopping list.
had a rotten anniversary night. DH came home and i asked if he wanted to go out to eat or fix something. he said "all i want is a shower and go to bed, i don't feel good. happy anniversary" of course that caused for an eating binge. i hadn't eaten most of the day. the scale was surprising this morning. so will try this again... of listen to my body and if i am not hungry don't eat. what a concept. LOL.

Ladies I would like to request that you send a prayer up or just good thoughts towards my brother in law and his family, they just found out this morning that there 2 year old son my nephew has two systs on his brain, one the size of a golf ball the other much smaller. They are filled with fluid from what the doctor can tell, so that is good, at least it is not a mass. However this is just the start they have to deciede where they would like to go for further treatment, Mayo, childrens hospital all in Minneapolis which is 4 hours from here.
We are all praying it is minor and once they drain the systs that they will dissolve and that will be the end, but in the mean time they seem to be giving my nephew headaches and may be causing developmental delays.
So I want to thankyou all ahead of time for your thoughts and prayers. You all mean the world to me and it is nice to be able to post here, because I cant talk to anyone else yet about this, they just found out and have not told other family memebers yet so I dont think it would be right for me to tell them.
But on a better note my eating has been great today and my dd had another amazing speech session today so yippee we may be making huge milestones we are waiting to see.

cruising on by again this morning. i love busy days. been listening to my tummy of if i eat and scale is doing nice things.
nephew here so him, shanell, I are meeting at the gym at 8 this morning.
have a laundry list of things to get done.
my left outside wrist was sore and swollen yesterday and now it's not sore(still swollen) but my knuckles are. might have to make a doctors appt for this.
repairman never showed. called said he got heat exhaustion and was home drinking a beer. WHAT!!!! called landlord said i would fix and he can pay me back. landlord just had heart surgery he doesn't need the stress. but, if he can't hire a property manager for this, than i have no one to call but him.

I'm up was gonna do turbojam... but got bored. Now waiting for IPOD to charge so I can go for a run! :-) Much easier on my brain, and I;ll be out of the house so I probably could focus enough to do it!
Contemplating joining YMCA! But today is the last day that there is free joining, so need to make up my mind. :-/

Hi Everyone,
Just checking in quickly. We were on vacation last week and not even close to a computer. Tired to drink lots of water since we were visiting my grandfather and almost nothing is low fat. I think I may have minimized the weight gain. Now I am driving home with two sick family members. Apparently there is a tummy bug going around. Not good when you have to cover over 1000 miles in two days.
I scanned all the posts quickly, looks like there are a lot of good things going on. I will check in more on Monday.0 -
:flowerforyou: CONGRATS TIFF!!!!!!! HAVE YOU SET A DATE YET? It's time for Tony and I to start getting busy for our wedding. We have our date set for next Sept 10th ( 9-10-11) I am going to look at wedding dresses later this week. I just wish I could get it together to get this weight off. I have my birthday comiing up here in a couple of weeks so I am not going to even try to focus until it is over.

Cathy - Sorry about the anniversary. Had a somewhat similar experience this year (and we were only on 4). Men sometimes don't get it. But after 33 years, something must be workin' for you. Is your daughter on the boards now (Nellie)? You are an inspiration everywhere!
Tiff - Wedding planning alone can cause a lot of stress in a relationship. Remember that it is not indicative of your relationship in a marriage. Have fun with it. You are going to be a gorgeous bride!

Went away this weekend and stress ate so bad and am feeling the pain today. Bound me up big time and I think I am going to be drinking nothing but water for the next 12 hours just to get my system flushed. Thank goodness weigh in isn't until Wednesday. Hopefully I can do some serious damage before then.

what a last few days. busy busy busy. glanced through the posts everyday.
yes, nellie is my DD. she was with us awhile back. she caught her wagon and is back on.
the scale was so nice to me last week and than it came back, don't know when where or why. oh, well that's life.
need to do some deep cleaning today. had company yesterday. nephew is going to become a weekend addition i think. have a class most of the day tomorrow. i am getting my "R" to have to join the board to say you are a "realtor" other wise you are a real estate agent. so that's tomorrow.
need to get going. have to run some papers to broker and than get back to clean.

Had a good weekend ate ok, not great but not to bad, will be happy if I lose 1 lb this week. But I am doing a weight loss challenge with some friends so hopefully that will kick my but in gear.
