Do you have a funny body shape?

So, I was wondering if there would ever be a day where my apple shaped body would turn into an either balanced shape or a pear shape - all my weight is in my arms and back, and I have no butt whatsoever! Dresses always have to be bigger because my upper body doesn't conform to my lower body. I also wonder if anyone else has this issue of having a long torso, so that when you try on clothes, your boobs are where the waist is supposed to be? Anyone know of places to shop where they address this issue?

    I have the opposite problem of long legs and a short torso. Pants are hard to look right in

    BUT I BIG UPPER BODY LOWER BODY SMALL MY FREIND
    SAID I AM SHAPE LIKE A BOX I HATE THAT CLOTHES FIT BAD 2X TOP

    Thanks for the replies! I agree, it sucks when your clothes don't match sizes - but I have had friends that have lost a lot of weight, and they still have the same body shape, so I guess I need to work on accepting and loving it.

    Yeah, the right side of my body has slightly more fat than the left. I hate it.

    I'm basically a rectangle with boobs. No butt, no hips and linebacker shoulders. Always been this shape. Don't lift weights because when I do I look even more like a man LOL

    No waist, because i'm too short!

    When I'm sitting and I laugh, sometimes my ribs rub my hip bone!

    I have an S-curve, Scotty-Dog Scoliosis, so my right shoulder is 1 1/2 inches lower than my left.

    I carry ALL of my weight in my butt and thighs.

    My bra size is 30A.

    Try fitting that! All the petite clothes are for old ladies and all the normal clothes are too long and my chest is too flat and my booty too big and my shoulder too lopsided to fit most dresses; it's like hitting the lottery to find a dress that fits well and it's usually because of adjustable straps or a fabric with good stretch.

    We ALL have weird bodies, I think, lol.

    I too have a funny shape, however, it's most prominent when I'm overweight.
    As I continue to lose, I become more proportionate, less apple and more pear.

    I'm of teeny frame, so my shape is overly exaggerated at my current weight for my height.
    As I'm sure everyone's different, it's very possible that depending on how you carry weight, you could well find yourself proportionate once all is said and done.

    At least, that's where I hope to be in a couple of months :drinker:

    i actually have a very weird body shape. I have to maintain a very slender figure in order to look good, my hips are very big and when i gain weight it all goes to my hips, butt and inner thighs, while my arms, calves and boobs always stay skinny and small.
    when i am at the weight that doctors would recommend for my height (5'8") i look very awkward.

    I have really short legs (I'm 5'8 with a 29" inside leg!) but a long torso. Sadly all my weight goes to my lower half so I have jumbo thighs with a small waist so I always have to wear a belt as I have to buy bigger trousers to fit my thighs! :(

    i have very wide hips and i go agaisnt things when i walk cos i underrestimate how wide they are LOL

    Also, as I'm losing weight slowly right now, it appears I've lost from my arms and upper body, my butt, thighs and legs, however, my middle is diminishing at a vastly slower rate.

    4 wks ago, I was a very round apple, today I am a somewhat normal sized person looking into a funhouse mirror. My middle is 1" larger than my hips :sad: I'm hoping this is just an awkward stage and I'll progress past this point very very very soon :grumble:

    THIS. I'm 5'11, have a 37" inseam and have the torso of someone 5'3. My 5'4" mother has a longer torso than me. I can't wear my shirt tucked in or wear a belt, ever.

    Wow! The message that I am getting is that once we get to our goal/proportionate weight, then our bodies will try to balance out as much as possible - and it's encouraging to see that it shows up once you're diligent with the weight loss. I know that Old Navy and Land's End makes some clothes but it's still a hit or miss for me!

    I generally am fairly lucky with a natural hourglass shape. HOWEVER, I do have a natural muffin top. It's very odd, but if I am standing there butt naked, I have a muffin top. I HATE it!

    I have a long everything, and when I say everything, I mean everything. I am 6'3 with a 36" inseam, long torso, long arms, long feet, long fingers..........the list is endless. I can never find shirts that are long enough and when i wash them once, they're even shorter. I have tried multiple pants, but when I bend over, the moon wants to shine out the top of my pants (hence when I like to find longer shirts.) I will tuck my shirt in, but it just comes untucked because there is hardly anything to tuck. I don't wear dresses because they are too short most of them time. Plus, with a majority of my weight in my hips and butt and thighs, I feel like I am shaped like a christmas tree and look HUGE. My wedding dress was full length gown, supposed to cover my feet, but for me it was a "ball gown" because it stopped at my ankles.

    I have no waist, it is only about 4 inches smaller than my hips. I could weigh 100lbs and the Navy body fat calculator would probably still consider me obese because of my lack of a waist. I weigh 134, with a body fat of over 31% according to them. The calculators that don't measure your waist I have a 21% body fat.

    My hip/butt area is large and my waist is small so finding pants is a nightmare. I generally have to go for pants (especially jeans) with stretch. I can't get them tailored at the waist because then they don't fit over my butt.
    Not quite sure where this booty came from, everyone in the family has no butt....

    Yes. I have a long torso, broad shoulders, and am generally 'thick' through the upper mid-section between my shoulders and waist. It makes clothes fit really weird and makes me look like I have muffin top in the back if I wear anything clingy. Also, I'm 5'9 and have to buy pants that are "short", which gives me some funny looks too like they can't believe people can have short legs. Also, I am a tad bit worried that if I get smaller my head will look ginormous on my body...so yes. funny body shape.

    I've always felt my body was ridiculous. I'm super short with boobs way too big for comfort, fat in my middle, not a lot of *kitten*, and big muscular legs. Buying jeans is pretty much impossible. T-shirts mostly highlight how disproportionate my chest is to my height/weight, so I wear dresses (with enough room for my ladies....not an easy task) almost exclusively.

    THIS!! I think my natural muffin is caused because i have a big pelvic bone then it goes in a bit but then my thigh bones are stickin right out again. There's just this natural dip there, and it doesn't help that my weight goes to my hips. Pants are a nightmare! They just wanna hang out in that dip and make me look mega muffin top, because they're too loose above my hips where my waist goes in. So they slip too low and give me a saggy butt look on top of the muffin.

    But my chest probably gives me the biggest woes. It's very wide set and my boobs seem a mile apart. Plus they are slightly uneven in size, it's one of those things where it's not obvious but I know it and drives me nuts. I also get fat in a very odd place, right on the bottom of my ribcage, on each side of my ribcage.

    I'm trying to accept that these are all nitpicking and that somethings are going to change when I'm fit, and somethings will not. But overall, having a happy healthy body will look the best :happy:

    I'm not quite sure! Before my weight loss, I had a pear shape (I think :tongue: )

    But now my hip measurements are two inches past my bust measurements, and my waist wavers between nine-ten inches less than my hip measurement. Different sites tell me different body shapes (from pear to hourglass to banana) I used to be a banana body type before a huge growth spurt. Sooo I dunno. :ohwell:

    I have no boobs. The rest of body is not too bad except I have really big knees. My legs are thin. The tops of my legs are only 17 1/2" and my calves are 13 1/2" , but my knees are 15" So skinny jeans are definitely not in the picture.

    I'm the same--all my weight is in my boobs/arms. As I've lost weight, the shape has stayed mostly the same, just got smaller. But, I hope that as I get closer to my goal, the weight will come off my problems areas. (It has to, right?) :smile:
  • Well I do have a difficult time finding clothing that fits properly. I wouldn't call my shape "funny" because it's certainly nothing to laugh about! :(

    I think (hope!) that when my extra weight comes off and I'm finally healthy, I'll fit into normal size ranges. For example, looking at the Gap website size chart for jeans: according to my hip measurement I wear a size 8. According to my waist I wear a size 20. I don't think I look *that* out of proportion, although I admittedly have a large waist. I end up wearing around a 10 or 12 in pants so I guess that's my middle ground?

    I don't know, it's frustrating to carry all my weight in my tummy. I know a lot of people who gain weight in their rear and it just gives them an hourglass figure. NO FAIR!

    I have such a weird body. I am 5 foot 3 and 126 pounds currently. I am a pear shape. I'm a 34A and I wear a size small shirt in women's and juniors and I wear a size 8 pants in women's and a size 11 pants in juniors. I have been this size since I was 11. Shopping as a child was a nightmare. I remember as an 11 year old looking for pants that would fit me in the kids section with no luck and then my grandparents asking one of the employees for help and the employee asking my pants size as I was looking for pants and then I told her and she said: "wow my pregnant daughter is 4 sizes smaller than you." I went to the bathroom and cried lol. Thankfully I can find more things that fit now that I am an adult and shop in the adult and juniors section but in elementary and middle school it was tough! I carry ALL of my body weight in my hips and thighs. I've never gained weight in my upper body but I always do in my butt, hips and thighs. I am a white girl with a big butt lol.
