I'm not super new, I joined two weeks ago but my presence has been spotty. I haven't actually had much to log (long story) so I figured, why even bother. But, my best friend's vim and vigour are infectious and she's encouraged me to reach out on the boards.

So .... I'm reaching out. Hello, fellow MFP users!

I imagine when I was in the 2nd grade I started to take off from my peers in regards to weight. Since then it's been a mostly uphill battle akin to Sisyphus, only that rock is my expanding gut.

My battle isn't necessarily with food anymore. A lack of money really throws into sharp relief 'necessity' over 'need'. It's mostly motivation to exercise. I'm great with outdoorsy stuff - hiking, soccer, playing with dogs - but organised things like the Wii Fit, exercise tapes and C25K and I'm hopeless. I give up so easily! That's where my battle lies, getting my butt up to do something routine and patterned!

Hi, welcome! We dont have loads of money either so I am trying to add exercise for free. I walk the dog, try and bike ride and I'm starting to walk for those small journeys where I used to get the car out. It means being more organised getting teh 3 children ready (physically and mentally) for a walk and leaving earlier but we're doing it! Like you I just looked in every now and then for a few weeks whilst a friend raved about it and now I'm hooked. Start logging what you eat and it's amazing how quickly you get drawn into it!

    Good luck!
  • hey i think our new weekend thing is going hiking or other such outdoorsy stuff so you defiantely get some working out in on the weekends. also for me. hiking is fun, but its more fun with you. :)
  • Thanks so much!
  • I agree, A, we should definitely work in more fun fitness-y things into our weekends. I'm bringing TurboJam and we're going to experience the SHEER JOY AND ENTHUSIASM together.
  • ahh TurboJam....i'm scared but also excited! XD

once i get that belly dancing DVD you're doing it with me!
