I boil a dozen eggs and eat the whites for snacks - full of protein and only 15 calories each. Cucumbers, celery, tomatoes with balsamic vinegar. One egg and two egg whites with turkey ham and veggies cut up and mixed in - like scrambled eggs. Broccoli, mushrooms, onions, asparagus, spinach, are all good veggies to mix with eggs. Saute the veggies first. Shrimp cocktail. I eat ALOT of chicken and vegetables. Make chicken terriaki and instead of rice, serve in lettuce leaves with shredded carrots, celery, water chestnuts, and sprinkle with a couple peanuts. Chicken chili (chili with cut up chicken breast instead of hamburger). "Taco salad" - ground turkey sautéed and drained, mixed with lettuce, tomato, reduced fat shredded cheddar, and light catalina dressing, chicken soup with cauliflower, cubed butternut squash, carrots, and celery. Any of those sound good?

Huge garden salad-4-6 cups, with slivered almonds, blackened chicken breast, and either red wine vinegar or blue cheese dressing...depending on what your calorie goal is.

No fat GREEK yogurt--plenty of protein, very little carbs, low cal. Macerate fresh blueberries and or strawberries and add some pure stevia for sweetening.

Egg white omelettes with veggies/mushrooms and cheese.

    Grilled chicken breasts.
    Grilled filet mignon.

    Boiled eggs.

    Tuna fish.

    Rice and potatoes.

Ummm, these are both carb loaded. This is why rice and potato's are a diabetic's worst enemy. High carb that turns to high sugars.

    Protein and veg.

For example - salmon and asparagus. Chicken stirfry. Steak with cauliflower cheese. Ham and tomato salad. Cod with roast peppers and onions.

My favorite meals at the moment ....

    Grilled pork chop (fat trimmed)
chop and slice - cucumbers, tomatoes, onion and lettuce

stuff everything into a pita bread or wrap.

    Mixed bean salad-
1/2 a can of 3or5 bean salad drain and rinse
put in a bowl with chopped salad (cucumber, tomato, lettuce, onions)
1 table spoon of chunky salsa
    1 table spoon of tzatziki
1/2 a lemon and a little olive oil (tiny bit)

    FOR BREAKFAST

Josephs Lavash with Flax (flat-bread) 90 cal. (like 4 carbs - can't remember exactly)
3 large egg whites scrambled 17 cal ea.
    3 oz. lean ham 30 cal/oz.
cheese of choice - about 80 cal - I like pepper jack
seasoning - salt and pepper - if desired

311 calories and very low carb.
Want less calories - cut back on cheese/ham

like to heat the flat bread ham and cheese in the oven or microwave before adding the scrambled egg white
