Hi guys-
I dont post on here much but enjoy reading everyones news. I am a first time mum of a beautiful 6 month old baby. I am and have always been into fitness and exercise so for the past 6 month and before I have been feeling pretty down on myself! Anyway I have been slaving away with Jillian DVDs and jogging on treadmill and doing everything I can possible do at home-have even started dragging myself up at 5am to work out. Feels like its taken forever and its has been hard work BUT this morning I looked in the mirror and saw definition in my stomach and slim legs and realised that the hard work is paying off! What a great way to start the day. So to all you new mums- dont give up, you can do it! I am still not there and dream of squeezing my but into my old jeans every day...hopefully one day soon! Also if you are ever feeling a little low- just take a look at your little creation that YOU made, how cool is that!

Sounds like your doing great! Being a mum to a little one and carving out some time in your day for excercise can be hard. So well done you!

My profile pic was taken when my second child was 1 year old. For me, it was possible to get my figure back, took about 9 months but I didn't start working out properly until she was 6 months old.

It sounds like you're doing a marvelous job!!!

However (fire away) I say if a new mommy is really determined to breastfeed...I say focus on THAT first before dieting and working out.

Exercise and dieting will make milk supply plummet if moms don't eat enough. Every ounce of milk a mom produces 26 calories are burned.

So if you a new mommy or a mommy of more than one and want to breastfeed please keep this in mind. Make sure you're eating!!

I learned this the hard way. When my now two year old was about 6 months I started working out and dieting my supply decreased so drastically I almost gave up. I did eventually ween her at 10 months.
