MFP suggested 1260 cals for me when I first started. It was a struggle.....I decided to up it by changing my activity level on my profile. It's now at 1410....doesn't seem like much of an increase but I feel much better.

I know how to fix hunger...EAT. 1200 is not enough for anyone.
  • It's okay to eat a little more than the number MFP recommends you. Besides, it's the number of calories TOTAL, which means the amount you eat minus the amount you exercise.

Why are you trying to eat under the 1200? You should be eating at least that and more if you have a more active life.

I am on 1200 a day and I am rarely hungry. Below is what I usually eat I don't know if it will help you or not but it might give you some ideas of what you can eat. You can also eat more veggies like celery and stuff I don't because I am allergic to quite a few vegetables.

Usually I have 1 egg, 1 toast and some fruit for breakfast.
For lunch pasta or rice, veggies and chicken or shrimp for lunch.
For a snack it is usually a handful of almonds or a greek yogurt or cottage cheese.
For dinner it is usually a spinach salad with chicken, fish or lean pork. I put lots of veggies in my salad as well as sunflower seeds or almonds.
For snack at night it is usually some sort of skinny cow ice cream product or crispy snap pea caesar flavour or a couple pieces of dark chocolate.

    Hope this helps

MFP always sets it WAY too low. I started off at 1200 (as per MFP) was hungry, and actually gained weight the second week. I now eat 1500 plus my exercise calories, and I'm losing very nicely. Check out what your TDEE and eat -20%. Good place to start.

Eat more! Functioning on that amount seems impossible.
