Running gait analysis - bad experience.

I went to my local decathlon today who offer this service. They have a treadmill and ankle thing ect and it tells you all about it on a screen.
When the lady finally came to the department she asked how far i run. She said she wouldnt do a full one as it didnt matter till i was running 10k or half marathons. She put me in a pair of trainers, roll my jeans up slightly and then told me to jog up the store not even 20 yards then back again and that was it. I was told i had a normal gait but was a heavy footed runner so make sure i get shoes that are cushioned.
We questioned her then the manager but he was more than useless. Why have the equipment and not use it? She said that was for staff that didnt know what they was doing. She was laughing at us all the time. Since being home ive looked on the net and it seems this store has had a number of problems with this.
Feel gutted.

Making an official complaint about them too, hopefully one day they might help people!0 -
Is there anywhere to look and find somewhere decent or is it just lots of looking and phoning?0

Yellow pages perhaps or look for a local running club. You could call one of the members who have a phone number available and ask them for a recommendation. Worst case scenario you could hit up a podiatrist and have them check it for you. Perhaps something insurance would cover (the appt., not the shoes). Maybe find a local park where runners congregate. You could approach some of them in the parking lot and ask them. Maybe they'd send you back to the same shop but have a person you should deal specifically with that knows their stuff. Not all areas are going to have many choices for running stores. I'm lucky and have 2 within a decent driving distance but there's a big running community here.0

Thank you.
I dont really see many runners round here to be honest but i know of a mum at the school who runs so i might ask her see if she knows anywhere0 -
About it not mattering if you don't run 10k that's nonsense, in my opinion.
If she is really good she might be able to judge from watching you for a short run though. I am sure you were surprised though, or you could have asked her for her credentials. Like what kind of experience does she have with coaching runners. If her credentials is good you can probably go by her advice.0
