Please help me with meal ideas!:(

I've been plateuing for ages. I was eating healthy (well under my calorie goal) doing pilates when i could (I have exams, not much exercise is possible atm) however no weight loss!:/ I know you need the gym to lose weight properly however i thought you could still lose weight with diet? When i eat unhealthy (some pizza, go over my intake by over 1500) i will lose weight by just eating normal for 2 days after the day, however i don't understand why my weight does not go down any further and just stops at 79 kg (174 pounds?).

Do i need to change how i eat and what i eat? im usually not sure what i should eat :( I just want to know why i cant lose weight any further

Thank you

(my diary is open to public)

From quickly looking at your diary and not knowing much about you I have two guesses: sodium and stress. Both can make you hold on to water.

As much as you are able, making fresh food might help. One thing that I like to do is spend one day a week making a big batch of a curry or stew or something and freezing it in portions. Then heat and eat with rice!

***okay so I looked closer and I see that you're tracking your sodium. I'm surprised that it's so low with so many prepared meals!

I usually make most of my curries tbh, well sometimes i cheat and use the sauce however when i make lentil curry i make it from scratch! Could drinking more water help with weight loss? Because when i was even drinking 2.5 litres a day i still lost no weight!:(

:/ I dunno. I would say keep trying to eat well and see how your body does after exams?

One meal that I love is roasted veggies (anything I can get my hands on tossed in herbs, nutritional yeast and a bit of oil roasted for about 40 mins) over quinoa or brown rice.

I'm also learning how to make soup and made a delicious sorrel/nettle/ramp soup with coconut milk but that was with stuff I got from my CSA. I imagine if you are getting the ingredients from a market it'd be pretty expensive.

When I lived in the UK I had pretty bad eating habits. I'm trying to remember what else I could have done to eat better.

All I can remember is prawn mayonnaise, cherry bakewells, and sooooo much cider. :)

I started last October at 72kg. I've been doing mfp since January. I've generally been making sure I eat breakfast, making sure I exercise 3 times a week - I generally go to the gym, I have a personalized program and its really helped!

But if I can't make it to the gym I tend to do a 45min program on Just Dance for the Wii. It REALLY helps, and because its music and dancing you don't even feel like you're working out. 45 mins for me tends to burn about 200cals, that 3 times a week is very close to what mfp says i should be burning per week to lose weight. So if you had something like that for the wii/xbox whatever that tends to be a lot easier to squeeze in!

Although, when I was doing my exams last year it was near enough impossible to lose weight, so it might be best to try more after you're exams are over!
