Weight-Lifting before Weighing in???

Hi
I was wondering....if I do a weight lifting class a day or two before i'm supposed to weigh myself, does that have any variance on my actual weight? I know muscle weighs more than fat, and I'd hate to be discouraged by a false number on the scale. If it DOES effect my weight loss, when should I do conditioning? Thanks....I know this is a poorly phrased question but I would appreciate some concrete answers!

In my experience I tend to weigh more after lifting. I drink water while working out so I'm sure it's water weight. Initially it lasted for quite a while, now it doesn't last long. Since I started out lifting and didn't see any change on the scale for the first month I've learned to trust the measuring tape more. I had lost an inch but hadn't dropped a pound. Then about the 5th or 6th week I dropped 5 in a week. I've found the tape measure to be good for not letting me get disappointed or discouraged.0
