Hey Guys -
Have any of you tried either of the above....
If so, what are your results and are they different?
I am trying to set a schedule of food and exercise , and wondered how these work with MFP - ie eating exercise calories etc.
Can anyone help?
Regards
Mike

There's 2 groups dedicated to 5:2 here on MFP , as well as groups on other forms of Internittent Fasting including ESE.
I've been 5:2ing since January, so I can tell you a bit about that. I find I can exercise on a fast day with no problems, but you dont eat back your exercise calories on those 2 days. On the other days, eat at your TDEE. I have MFP set to my maintainance levels, which is what I aim for 5 days a week.0 -
Thanks Melanie!
I shall seek out those groups!!

Hey! This is a great question as I am wondering the same thing. I did join the groups but I haven't found much so far on Eat, Stop, Eat. I really liked the rationale and science behind the concept as explained in the online book. I did a 24-hour fast last week on my rest day and I found it fairly easy to do. I am thinking about doing it once a week on rest days just as a way to hit the "reset" button.0

I don't know if this will help in anyway. I just started IF last week after over a year of plateau. I have been exercising 5 days a week, including, tabata, running, HIIT, barre, WT...but my weight simply won't change.
I started last monday and so far my weight started going down and stays on the downward trend. this is good sign for me.
As for coordinating routines with foods, I have been doing barre on the days of eating, and light running on the morning of the down day (500 cal), and long run on weekends (up days). This past week seemed working out pretty well. I will report back if things start changing on me.
Good luck everyone~0
