Hi! im not far into my weight loss journey, but in the first week, I have managed to lose 4kg just through diet change and walking five days a week!
so surprised but now worried I'll lose nothing in my next weigh in!!
Any similar situations/tips?

You'll just have to wait and see. Also, keep in mind that these 4 kg represent mostly water weight.0

Most people have a big loss the first week because your glycogen stores are emptied when you enter into a calorie deficit. Glycogen is a chemical in your muscles used for immediate energy and stores a lot of water along with it.0

blahhhh!!!!! dam.! so disappointing!! oh well! guess I shall keep on keeping on then0

I always find the first week is a good loss - but well done on the excellent start, use it to keep you motivated going forward, even if future losses are smaller.0

Also try not to rely solely on the scale!
take measurements as you go... chest, waist, hip, thigh, and upper arm.
You would be surprised that sometimes when the scale doesnt move good things are still happening.
I highly recommend a strength training program, your body will thank you by looking more amazing as you shed body fat.

I am 41 and have gone from this to this...and i credit a calorie deficit and hitting the iron.

Some people GAIN their first week. I went up 2 lbs. Enjoy your loss and look forward to more! You can do it!0

Congratulations on a great first week!
My advice is to focus on the total package and not just weight loss. Most people's weight will fluctuate from one week to the next, but if you are engaged in a sustainable healthy lifestyle then you will find that you improve your health, fitness and happiness. Your weight loss will be sustainable and a welcome by-product of attaining a much more valuable goal than weight-loss alone.
kind regards,

Congratulations on a great first week! This has been implied but I want to come out and just say it, do not expect to keep that rate of loss and do not get disappointed with yourself on weeks where you don't lose anything at all. It is a slow, but not so steady, process and you just need to be patient. Patient, patient, patient!0
