Newbie on a Mission :-)

Hi All! Just getting started here and thought I'd introduce myself. :-) I love being active but I do have a desk job and there are donuts, muffins, bagels and pizza at the office nearly everyday. Would love to hear how others resist "in your face" temptations. Or any other advice for newbies you may want to share!

I work in an office too, and the other girls bring in all sorts of goodies, but I just say no thank you.
I am fine if I don't have any but am unsure of my self control if I allow myself any so I play it safe.
I figure its my body and my life and I'll say what does and doesn't go into my mouth.
I used to be weak and once people brought out that sort of food, it was all over, but that's how I got into a position of having to fight every day to be fit and strong and try to get this weight off me.
I'll save my cals for when I go out for dinner or would like a couple of alcoholic drinks if I go out socialising.

Hi. I always bring my breakfast, lunch, and a snack for before my after-work work out with me. I think planning what you will eat that day and putting in your diary beforehand really helps. That way when someone brings doughnuts or whatever in the morning, I have my planned breakfast with me that fits in my macros, and I don't feel tempted. Also, I eat adequate calories for my training plan so I don't feel like I'm deprived or need to splurge on high-calorie extra food.
  • Thanks for the tips both of you!

Water, water, water... and oh yeah, water...

I also work behind a desk, but instead of sending email or making phone calls, I get up when I can...

..and as for the temptation, its easier to pass on the snack when you are drinking plenty of fluids all day.
