I did a search and I don't know what to call it....not cardio....not really weight lifting....
What are some exercises I can do at home that do not require a weight/barbell....
My short list is this, please add to it, and what is a good number of reps to do for a beginner:
Squats
Pushups
put your hands on a chair thingy and sit in front of it.
And is that really called toning? What do you call that?

What you are describing are body weight exercises. Also, the chair thingy exercise is called a tricep dip, if I am envisioning it right. Google body weight exercises and you will find tons. Here are examples with some pics.
