Yay!

I've been doing a lot with diet and exercise and seeing results for the first time ever.

I'm down 33 pounds since November, but as I said 20 pounds were in the last month. Mainly this is due to exercise, a new diet, and calorie counting on here. Also eating healthier in general.

I still have 85-94 pounds to lose (85 until I'm 'normal' weight, plus aiming for another 9 pounds for wiggle room.)

My doctor is happy.

I obviously still have a ways to go. Would love if any of you want to be fitness buddies along the way. I'm hoping to lose another 25 pounds in the next 3 months, which would take me down to the smallest size I'll ever have been at my adult height.

  • I am so happy for you!!! What does your diet consist of? I am trying to lose weight, but it's been a HUGE struggle for me!! I've only lost 3 pounds in the last month and I have 37 to go :(

I am American and moved to India and the food is so much less processed here. It lacks most of the chemicals and genetic modifications in the plant based foods and antibiotics and steroids in the livestock. Plus I eat a lot less meat and almost no red meat since beef is scarce. Still I eat some American food.

If I move back to America I honestly think I'll have to go organic, at least as much as possible, or I'll gain it back. I truly believe that. I'd tried diet and exercise back home and it NEVER worked... here it's just melting off. I mean I am working at it now, but only because I lost the first 8-10 pounds without trying, which encouraged me to try.

I also am drinking plenty of water. Like more than 8 glasses a day.

I would say eggs, whole wheat bread, and low cal fruit/ veggies have become staples. If I feel like a snack I'll try something like a half cup of melon (like 30 calories) before I turn to something else and half the time I don't feel hungry after... and the other half of the time I do and I have a small serving of something else.

Also don't be discouraged. If you only had 40 pounds to lose, you've already knocked out more than 7% of the needed weight loss. And if you lose 3 pounds a month, you'll still be there in less than a year.
