25 days of low calorie diet + Insanity, gained weight? Help

Alright, before you crucify me for eating too low, I didn't have the knowledge I have now 25days ago.
I am 5'8 180 pounds (Shameful, I know). Goal weight 143 pounds. For the past 25 days I've been eating way below my TDE. During the 25 days, I ate (my TDE is 1954, light to no exercise) around 1000 -1200, sometimes 700. I also walked for 1h 3-4 times/week combining with Insanity workouts. I'm on day 17/60. Why the heck did I gain 1 pound??? So basically all my appetite suppressing and panting I got from Insanity was all wasted yeah?? I compared pictures of myself on day 1 of insanity and 3 weeks later, I do see my stomach flattening and sucking in, however, my pants are not loose so I'm beginning to think that, that was an illusion. Seriously, shouldn't I at least lose some weight?? I'm sooooo depressed like come on.
my info:
5'8
180 pounds
TDE: sedentary/light exercise 1954
BMR: 1654
with HRM, 1h walk = 200-220 burned, Insanity = 390-460 burned

Keep going, adding exercise can do that at the beginning. Unless you have a metabolic disorder and your not lying to us or yourself, you will lose weight.0

Up your calories. You admitted yourself that you were eating to low. Take a couple of days and recover from your amazing dedication and then start over with your new calorie intake. You will be surprised by the results. I am always looking for new friends if you want to add me1

Like you said, you know now what you didn't 25 days ago and I am assuming you mean you know you are eating way too little. Your body is in starvation mode, therefore hanging on to every little peice of food you put in your body and hanging on to every ounce of fat you have. If you would have eaten at a healthy caloric deficit, let's say 1400-1500 calories, you probably would have lost quite a bit0

Definitely try upping your calories. You're doing a lot of exercise, and your body needs the extra food!0

I've been on the ABC diet, I did lose weight, however, only now that I am eating healthily instead of starving myself I can feel the fat going away as well as weight. Nothing does it better than a healthy change of life style, I used to look at advices like mine and think : jee, it doesn't work for me, I want to lose weight faster, but here I am giving you the same advice, 4lbs lighter in just 3 days.0

Hello, first of all, thank you al for replying me so fast! You've got no idea how happy I am. Now, do you think I should eat at least my BMR, which is 1654 calories? and then burn 600 cals with Insanity and walking?0

i put on 3lbs doing insanity.... but i also lost bodyfat, so stop weighing and start measuring/taking pictures.
but also make sure you are fueling your workouts properly.0 -
Eating too few calories for an extended period of time will put your body into "starvation" mode and your metabolism will drop.

Ideally you want to stay about 300-400 calories under your BMR
Take a read on this post, it's 5 years old but it's actually really good at explaining this and how to avoid it..

Best of luck on your weight loss, remember it's a marathon not a sprint.
Cheers!0 -

If you are doing the insanity your trading your fat for muscle~dont give up you will see inches drop rather than lbs at first~good luck0
