Off days

Hi All
After periods of being really disciplined do you ever have days of giving in to the cravings and over eating?
How do you manage those?

Yep, I do off days. Not necessarily for splurging purpose more so for health complications and day off from logging and thinking so much about every bite I take.
I have to sometimes take a crohn's day - and I just put in 2000 calories logged for the whole day. When my crohns is acting up I tend to eat more carbs to combat nausea and easy prep foods. I know I try to normally only eat a net calorie of 1200-1500 when I feel good. I know when I am down because of my crohns I have to let myself eat more and exercise less. Might be why I am losing so slow, but if I take the time my body needs to rest than I bounce back quicker. I do not actually eat 2000 calories but its an easy way for me to log once in the morning and go on with the day.
And then once a month or so, I give myself a "not logging day" for 2000 calories. Its not that I will sit down and eat a double cheese pepperoni pizza, its more to just not have to think so much about what I am eating. I do not weigh everything I eat those days (on normal days I do), and try to enjoy a day without so much. I bet some of my "not logging days" are still good counts, but counting all the time gets old fast.
I know lots of MFP member who run very tight ship when it comes to logging and eating healthy all the time. Even without my crohns as a complication I know I would not be able to so disciplined 100%. And I will never log the gum I chew, or extra calories on my walk if I chewed gum along the way.

Nope. I manage cravings by not giving anything up--I fit the things I like into my calorie goals. Since I never feel deprived, I rarely have cravings at all, and never feel the need to binge.0

Same thing here. Eat what I want, never feel deprived, never go over my calorie goal. I pride myself on always being under.0 -
I tend to do my best to plan for a meal once a week that might help with some cravings, be it saving room for an amazing dessert, or things like ribs. It might mean that you have to eat lighter meals or add another half hour or so to your exercise routine, but sometimes it's worth it and you feel better the next day knowing that you had an amazing meal, but that you didn't go over your calorie intake.
I do my best to stay within my range, but sometimes if I get unexpectedly taken out for dinner or someone brings dinner over for the person I care for and myself, I simply do the best I can and start fresh the next day.0
