I love to take strawberries, bananas and orange juice and go to town! That's what I'm drinking right now...well, strawberry & banana that I PURCHASED haha0

I use 1 cup of frozen strawberries and bananas, source strawberry yogurt and 1/4 cup of orange juice. I add water until it's the right consistency and this is about 150 calories. I usually have it as my afternoon snack.0

I use Nectar chocolate protein shake (has 100 calories, 23 protein, 0 fat, 0 carbs) and add a half cup of frozen fruit. I like berries (strawberries, blueberries or raspberries. Comes out thick and wonderful and I get some fruit in and gives my protein boost.0

I had a smoothie the other day at panera bread that was scrumptious so I came home to see if I could find a copy cat recipe online. I found this one for strawberry. You can do wild berry by changing out the strawberries to blueberries and black raspberries.
Blended with Stonyfield Farm's low-fat, organic vanilla yogurt and a full serving of fruit, this Panera recipe is a healthy addition to any meal or makes for a nutritious snack.
INGREDIENTS / NEEDS: 1 Cup of ice 6 Fresh strawberries 8 oz serving of Stonyfield Farm's low-fat, organic vanilla yogurt A blender
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1 - Place six fresh diced strawberries into blender, which equals a full serving of fruit.
Step 2 - Add one heaping cup of ice to the blender.
Step 3 - Add in 8 oz. of low-fat vanilla yogurt. At Panera we use Stonyfield Farm's low-fat, organic vanilla yogurt. Our special ingredient!
Step 4 - Place lid on blender and mix for 10 seconds.
Step 5 - Pour blended smoothie into a cup, top with strawberry and enjoy!

One to try out our blender on is a green smoothie! They take a little getting used to but are very good and healthy after you are used to it. And honestly you can't taste the baby spinach. Its only the color that gets you at first.
Swamp Delight:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1 cup of baby spinach (less at first, more after getting used to them)
1-2 medium frozen bananas
1/2 cup pineapple chunks
Throw it all in the blender and enjoy!0 -

A real basic smoothie is to use 3/4 cup frozen fruit, 3/4 cup milk (I like almond milk now) and a few drops of vanilla.
From here start tossing things in - wheat grass powder, maca powder, protein powder, banana, avocado....not kidding! If you add any of these, I also like to add 1 tsp honey to help with the flavor a bit.
Another thought is to add 1 heaping tsp of cacao (or cocoa) powder. It really helps with the chocolate/sweet cravings.
You will be amazed at what you can include - a real power shot!0 -
Another hint, my ex boyfriend use to make them in bulk for the week and freeze them. Just get the to go coffee cups and put a piece of the Glad sticky paper (not cling wrap but this is sticky and can go in freezer, can't remember what it is called and I don't have any right now) between the lid and cup. We usually drank them on the way to work so we would take one out the night before so it would be ready in the morning.0

1/2 cup Aloe Vera Juice
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
I apple
handful of kale/spinach ( blend frozen kale with liquid first)
I banana
1 tsp. coconut oil
Always switching it up by adding new greens in. I have also added a low calorie, low carb. protein powder to help with the hunger and workouts. Good luck!0 -

I saw one on a tv show that sounded good- apple pie smoothie. I forgot to write everything down so I just winged it and tasted good. Either one apple cut up or one cup unsweetened applesauce, 1 cup 35 calorie vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop protein powder, 2 tsp. ground flaxseed, 1 teaspoon unflavoured metamucil (makes it thicker!!) 1 teaspoon cinnamon and water- I put all the ingredients in and just top up with water til it is almost full. Calories would depend on calorie count of applesauce used and protein powder- the counts vary greatly so be careful!0

My quickie go to smoothie is:
1 cup of almond milk (I prefer unsweetened vanilla for 30 calories a cup!)
banana (I prefer to freeze my bananas & that way I don't use ice cubes)
1 or 2 cups of spinach (you can't taste it - promise!)
Super easy and delicious!0 -
I know I amazed that you cannot taste the baby spinach and kale in a smoothie. Freeze them first and mix them first with your choice of liquid. Great way to get your greens in.:)0
